The whole "marvel quip writing" actually came with James Gunn and Guardians of the Galaxy. Gunn is unable to write proper characters so he makes them all into quirky and self-ironic assholes with no depth whatsoever, regardless of their actual comic book backstory. Then this type of writing spred into other movies and series like a wildfire because it's so easy to direct, write and act and people eat it up.
