This movie reminded me of Irreversible because most feminists hated it because they had a surface level reading of it, without realizing it’s actually a deeply feminist condemnation of men, their objectification of women, and the power they wield over them.

Most feminists hate women. The values modern feminism hold dear are male values, and they basically reject the feminine. Even calling guy an “incel” is anti-feminist and reduces women to sexual commodities, but of course when I tell my sister that she calls me an incel.

Maybe she calls you that because you use an incel social-media.

I haven’t seen this movie but I do find it somewhat ironic that women will tell you how much of a traumatic experience rape is and how long it feels like it lasts and how it’s something that you can never really shake off and Gaspar is one of the only filmmakers who has actually captured that experience on film and the same people will condemn it because “it’s pointless and didn’t need to be an graphic”

wasnt there supposed to be butthole? i demand butthole!

Yeah Irreversible seems like a movie that’s more important for men to see. Too hardcore for women I think
>>
>>219776952
People say that and then you see other people who literally just shake it off like “well that was something”. I knew a girl in college who would joke about how she got raped by a stranger while passed out on a couch at a party.

people making a tragic event that happened to them an integral part of who they are seems like a form of narcissism

the blowjob scene looked silly

> how much of a traumatic experience rape is and how long it feels like it lasts and how it’s something that you can never really shake off
Society telling women to feel like that is why they feel like that. Sudanese women will just casually bring up the time they were gangraped while they’re making tea.

That's not "shaking it off" or narcissism you emotionally crippled manchildren. Holy shit. Are all of you autistic?

Feminists are inherently self-hating so their unhinged discourse is incoherent

that’s not good either because that’s dissociation but it is a problem in the west that people have few culturally prescribed ways to feel identity, purpose etc especially with the loss of religion. being a “victim” as your identity is big now for lack of alternatives. They are victims of course but it’d be healthier to have a different identity

>>219777222
Rape has been overblown and weaponized as a victimhood talking point

They didn't appreciate the notion that Monroe had a shred of responsibility in allowing herself to be objectified. Any film that implies a woman's suffering isn't 100% mens fault is anathema to feminists.

It’s a real shame because it’s probably one of the only movies that I’ve seen that really leaves a lasting impact on you in terms of feeling like you went through what the character just did. The rest of the film all you can do is think about the rape scene and it lingers on your mind and how it’s going to ruin all of the shit everyone is currently experiencing. It reminds me of how women will talk about someone like Von Trier is misogynistic for what he puts his female characters through but looking at the movies from a male perspective I can’t help but feel their plight and understand them on a level that other filmmakers could only dream of.

Remember when they tired pushing armas as a serious actress? Lol

> because that’s dissociation
Give me a single reason why disassociating from the bad shit in your life is wrong. It’s one of those things everyone says but nobody stops to think about at all.

Great novel adaptation. Actually gets into her life's messy details, and even alludes to her getting ganked (allegedly for blackmailing RFK into marrying her while on a bender).
>>
>>219777222
I was raped and I shook it off. Skill issue. Although it was ass rape. If that makes a difference?
>>
>>219777703
all the lovey dovey stuff between the characters at the “end” of the movie is brutal. another interesting part is when they are on the subway and the two men are talking about sex with her while she just sits there looking despondent. like they’re discussing a car or something

>Billed as a super brutal X-rated movie

3 hours is too fucking long for self-indulgent trauma porn

People that say irreversible is evil or exploitative are stupid.
>>219777051
Yeah showing something gooners romanticize, as horrific as it actually is
>>
>>219776654
Feminists hated it because a man directed it. If it was directed by a woman it would be hailed as a masterful work of feminist horror adaptation of the Joyce Carol Oates novel.

It's actually a masterpiece. One of those movies that will only get recognized as such 20 years from now.

The threesome rape has the casting of 2 pretty "fancy" queerish men that it seems for shock value. She's suffering horribly at the hands of 2 queers, but let's end it with a snarky innuendo of male coom!

Adrien Brody as Arthur Miller is genius casting/performance
