I asked for it. AMA

I'm a single soul, ladies. Form an orderly line.

This is a very bad casting. Worse than black Snape. Snape isn't your main character at least.

The original Harry looked like quite an average, nondescript fellow. It was the whole point. Same as having the rather bland name. But this new Harry looks like he's trying to hard to win a Harry Potter look-alike contest.

I asked for it too desu

Yates butchered the last 2 books hard.
>cut out all of Harry’s wit and sarcasm, and defiance(all his personality really)
>cut out the meat of Riddle’s backstory and how he acquired his prized possessions
>cut out Dumbledore’s backstory in the final movie despite splitting it in 2
>cut out nice tidbits of worldbuilding which sell the threat of Voldemort and his takeover much better
I see now why book fags for years shat on the final installments. Unfortunately I doubt the show will be more faithful. It’ll just be a pozzed version

Anyone else think this kid may be a homosexual?

Legally is female in the UK. She is a female to male tavistock victim.

I wanted a Potter tv show that won't skip subplots from the books

Much easier for them to look young when on puberty blockers, easy money + DEI points if caught.

Well you clearly don't have a soul then.

It's true
That is why 1 and 2 are soulful
Even 4

3 feels pretty empty but still has its moments and the casting choices were good for lupin and Sirius.
5 is miserable and shitty but I hate the book for that anyway, the characters are all pitted against one another in petty squabbles or personal power griping and the majority of the story is fairly bleak.

The only positive was Fred and George and I guess Umbridge(?) was cast well in it.

6 was actually an opportunity for the filmmakers and like you said, sucked dry.
>>
Original casting was perfect. You'll never beat original dumbledore and snape and mcgonagall and hagrid.
>>
i don't understand, what year is it supposed to be in? from the BTS footage they released it seems it is indeed set in the 1990s judging by the cars they used on set, yet the kids are dressed more like they're in the 2010s. the subway also seems a bit too modern for the 1990s but idk

Or original Pansy for that matter.

I can’t get over the new kid’s perfect little teeth. His parents have definitely shelled out for some premium orthodontic work on their cash cow.
>>
I will not give them a dime, but I will probably still watch it illegally, if only to laugh at it.

I know Dominic is an old name that comes from the Latin for "lord".

But my brain still scans it as a modern name that some dumb single mother thought sounded cool and tough.

How are they going to react when Harry's father lynched Snape in the books I thought that was looked down on. >>219785070

>liberals and racists when they notice they're both against Black Snape
>>
>>219787454
To be fair, people always took Snape's side in this one. James Potter is depicted as a compelte arsehole, a bully and a blood-supremacist (basically the in-universe equivalent of a racist already). So in that regard, it really makes no difference if you add in some real-world racism.

The bigger problem is that Snape being black takes out all of the subtlety out of that one and takes focus away from the in-universe parallel. Also, him being the goto suspect for the children whenever things go wrong also suddenly gets a racial/racist undertone, which wasn't there before at all.

my favorite harry potter movies are the first two because they have that magical child like wonder and christmas feeling about it and all the rest are just a lot less fantastical and more just grey dark. So i was really looking forward to the show hoping they would go with the vibe of the first two... instead the new show looks even more bland and dark..
