I was impressed with the upgraded special effects (for 1983) in ROTJ after watching the unaltered original trilogy.

han and leia are redundant after jabba’s palace, their plotlines just drag and the central plot, death star 2, doesn’t have any real lead-up or intrigue like it did in star wars. I have no problem with ewoks, but some due, and I always chalk it up to how they felt about vietnam, where the most powerful military in the world was beaten by traps made of bamboo and human shit.

It's always been a mixed bag because people hated the Ewoks, but the second Death Star battle and throne room saber fight have always been considered top tier.

>>219796147The first half hour is just tying up esb loose ends, then it becomes a totally different movie. Ewoks defeating stormtroopers is gay. Luke and Leia are reduced from main to secondary characters. The emperor has nothing to tempt Luke with since Luke was always firm about resisting him and the dark side, so he has nothing direction after surrendering to Vader on Endor. If youre a woman or child the special effects and emotion makes it all feel very epic though.
