His love for Jenny is basically built upon the fact that she was the first person other than his mother to not be completely awful to him and show him a tiny amount of human compassion, plus she also happened to be an attractive girl. This basically gave her carte blanche to use or depend upon Forrest for the rest of her life while giving virtually nothing back in return. Aside from the constant time spent together in childhood they have nothing in common, no shared interests or beliefs and have spent little time together as adults. The one fleeting moment when Jenny felt a sense of attraction to Forrest he immediately ejaculated then had no idea or even understanding of what just occurred. Forrest's sense of loyalty is somewhat admirable but I don't think it's love, just an intense infatuation spread across decades.
