What's HIS story?
>>
didn't ask
>>
>>219824209
He's a tall albino fossilized in a space suit. Lame and boring.
>>
>>219824209
He's a big guy
>>
>>219824209
It was originally supposed to be a genetically engineered pilot that was fused to the chair. Then Pozzmetheus was released.
>>
He saw some shit in his scope that was so stupid that he died
>>
He was neet playing fortnite and he fossilized to the chair
>>
this is what it looks like when a neet's body is discovered
>>

I'm going to say it. PROMETHEUS IS A GOOD MOVIE, IN FACT, AS GOOD AS THE FIRST 2 ALIEN ENTRIES.

You can seethe and cope all you want.

>asking chatjeetpt to pilot a ship worth 4 sextillion galactic credits
You must be one of those doctors and engineers that the federation has been importing to the outer colonies.
>>
>>219824673
based
>>
>>219824498
Probably not. Giger's work often had a much more intimate combination of machine and life than genetically modified beings. There's little distinction and little attempt to make sense. It's as much life growing from machinery as it is beings integrating themselves with it. Most of his art has an eternal sense as if these things just exist as they have forever.
>>
>>219824498
It really fucked the series up, but luckily Prometheus was so bad it killed its own intended trilogy lmao

>>219824552
cope and seethe, no Prometheus 2 for you!
>>
>>219824793
Do not redeem the slave wages saar Bloody benchod bastard bitch
>>

>>
>>219824209

>>

>>
>>219827652
Giger be like: Zo, she alien creature ist ze fat nerd who iz fuzed to ze chair, right? And ze automated system loads ze giant gun launcher with which ze neet alien fires it at ze unsuspectingmplanet, like a might penis cock launching ze sperm cells containing ze vagina creepy crawlies. Iz all very simple planet rape mythology.
>>
>>219824209
Ancient god-like aliens you've seen them in other works like the Protheans in Mass Effect I suppose it goes back to H.P. Lovecraft.

>Druid life seeders
>Biomech Engineer life feeders
>one believes in reincarnation, the other in interrupting it as living gods over all other sentients, indefinitely
>Earth fulfilled Druid prophecy, and apostate Engineers rushed to Exterminatus it:
>eventually, one of the seeded planets would recreate Druid lifeforms and defeat the Engineers
>Engineers need the human DNA to refresh, or repair a missing link, and/or create Original Black Goo

Still funny he got all of this because he fell of stairs as a kid. By his own admittance, he had good parents
>>
>>219826268
missed opportunity, newfag.
>>

For Yutani.
>>
I always saw them as the creators that hated AI people like David and the aliens could destroy them.
>>
>>219824209
he wasn't even important he was just the last guy to be using the goonitorium
>>
>>219824532
What if they’re a post-singularity civilization and there’s basically no clear line between their tech and their biology? What if the ship only generated purpose-built “meat-puppets” as needed and their consciousnesses resided entirely within the ship’s computers?

see you in a few thousand years anon
>>
>>219824209
He's Jesus's brother, besus, who was way less cool.
>>
>>219824209
It's a hyper goon chair.
>>
>>219824209
It's David's final form.
>>
>>219824498
Looks more like the exoskeleton brings afferent signals directly to his nervous system or some such shit. He doesn't have to be fused to the chair entirely, he was just plugged in.

No. He was fused permanently with the chair. Dallas literally states this directly in the film.
>>
>>219831776
That's fine and works for giger's scifi. But audiences and Ridley even can't accept it. They have to have a childhood, dreams, goals, an old girlfriend they're sad about, and they certainly have to be connected to humanity all along! Can't just be a million year old cargo ship wreck that was carrying dangerous food to some alien restaurant with a meat puppet pilot.
>>
>>219834185
And that’s a shame, because I find that far, far creepier. Imagine how horrifying it would be if they were like the Borg notched up to 11 and so utterly beyond us that they see us as not much more than a curiosity. Imagine Borg that are essentially electromagnetic “ghosts” that only constitute bodies when they need them instead of plugging into charging ports, using nanotech that makes it look like the walls of their ship birth and absorb them.
>>
>>219824531
aw and I thought he was a gooner watching his hot neighbor through the telescope
>>
>>219825452
lmao it caused so much seething among prometheusfags
>>
>>219828357
horror is male commentary on the vagina and reproduction; you just told on yourself for being gay
>>
>>219824498
It's interesting how almost all sci-fi becomes worse, once they try to explain or expand upon weird things in the background that's meant to allude to a larger universe. They just kill the sense of mystery and otherworldliness, and it always ends up worse than whatever the audience might have conjured up in their imagination.
>>
>>219835848
There are scifi that has decent explanations and mysterious stories. It's usually not crammed into a short movie though. And yes, in the end it's all thought up by a human so it's going to be something you can comprehend. They can withhold answers from you to keep you guessing but then you just get JJ Abrams types with empty mystery boxes that don't care to have answers at all
>>
>>219831557
Missed opportunity for what? Maybe for you.
>>
>>219824209
Havent you heard? Its an albino avatar in a spacesuit
The xenomorph of that film is created by an android from earth named David, btw
>>
>>219824498
Still is
>>
>>219824552
Sure, and so was Phantom Menace and it wasnt lore breaking at all
>>
>>219824849
People forget that the xenomorph itself is like that, its "biomechanical" as Giger put it
>>
>>219837840
Yeah more machine than man, twisted and evil. They even say it so while discussing the bonus situation.
>>
>>219837840
It's how the chestburster was supposed to grow so fast since it could consume parts of the ship. That concept was dropped in later movies because most were made by hacks that didn't care about a consistent lore or making a coherent long running story. At least with Blomkamp's movie, he was going to return to that bringing back the old canon where the companies wanted to get the alien to use its biomechanical properties to make technology for humans to survive space easier. Humans would have tougher skin and organs, survive vacuum, and radiation, etc. Be able to merge with a biotech suit that would give them extreme survivability. But nah, they'll just keep making nonsensical prequels doing the whole slasher story over and over like it's still scary
>>
>>219838642
>hacks that didn't care about a consistent lore or making a coherent long running story
Ha ha space-bug go brrr
