I'll have to watch it some time.

Nobody watches Yuaslop anymore, sorry.

I actually put it above the original Tatami Galaxy series. But I really didn't enjoy how over the top and spastic that series was. Walk On Girl is much more evenly paced.
>>
Idk if this is the druk or the weeb talking, but thank you OP

Recommending this for any /druk/s who enjoy cozy anime, though the product placement gets absurd at points.

The remake from 2024 is also solid
>>
>>219829305
Agreed. It kind of blows my mind how many people latched onto that series. I remember when it debuted. I think the first episode got fansubbed and then nobody bothered because most of /a/ thought it was boring and pretentious (including myself, at the time).
>>
>>219829595
Bourbon and soda here. It's 80F, raining and muggy. Otherwise I'd just go neat.
>>
It's an excellent film that no one ever talks about.
>>
>>219829630
Have you seen Time Machine Blues? I really enjoyed that one as well. It was very sweet and thoughtful.
As far as Yuasa goes, Kemonozume is still my favorite.
>>
Alcohol is trash. DUDE DRUK LMAO
>>
>>219829630
NTA but I liked how "stoner" Tatami Galaxy felt, it's something you rarely get from Japanese productions
You definitely need to be in the right mood for it but that applies to most of Yuasa's stuff (that I've seen so far)
>>
>>219829688
Yup. Both very solid. I've never watched Kemonozume because I got filtered by the character designs. Same with Ping Pong the Animation. I keep telling myself that I'll get around to both. Kaiba is still my favorite Yuasa.

Without consulting an encyclopedia, search engine or AI, please do your best to explain the plot.
>>
>>219829832
Oof. The rich get their memories transfered between bodies, then a bunch of pretty colors, good music, and weird things happen. I haven’t watched it in like a decade.
>>
>>219829783
I get you on the designs/animation. I guess after watching very 'normal' anime for quite a long time something more experimental was refreshing and interesting.
>>
Wonderful beautiful movie. Shame she loses characterization as it goes on and the guy becomes the main character and the only one with any real internal struggle
>>
>>219830270
And yet what does the guy learn, what challenge does he overcome? Surely he learns the lesson that he cannot expect to find love by passively being in the right place, he can only find love by actively making his intentions clear? Nah, she falls in love with him because he was in the right place.
>>
>>219829809
It's called the Sophist dance in the film, but interesting catch!

Fat pedophile redeemed through true love and also the MC beats himself up
>>
>>219827615
How old were you when you realized the title Night is Short, Walk On Girl is a play on the refrain Life is Short, Love On Girl from the classic Taishō-era Gondola Song? For me, I was 27 or 28

I hate these films that romanticize drinking as something magical. Very reckless and harmful to idealize something so ugly.

I enjoyed it because of how intricately constructed the overall story and characters are. There's just a shit ton of little interconnected details present that you notice on rewatches, especially pertaining to Ozu.
