Find a flaw.
Genuinely way too kino for /tv/. Scorsese's commentary for Black Narcissus is a solid listen btw.
>>219830423>powell & pressburger kinoEmeric Pressburger wasn't involved in Peeping Tom. Also all the other movies are from the 40s and that one's from 1960, so yeah, there's a major fucking flaw in your retarded picture.
>>219831892peeping tom is still on the same level as those other ones though
Good to look at but not entertaining for a modern audience. I enjoy movies like Double Indemnity but most are plots that have been copied so many times over. They were great for their time.
>>219832442There's no reason a movie should be entertaining for "a modern audience".
>>219832442Fuck the modern audience
>>219830423makes other movies look like shit by comparison
>>219832442>Good to look at but not entertaining for a modern audience. You mean retards? Those existed in all eras
>>219832360
>>219831851>Genuinely way too kino for /tv/. Scorsese's commentary for Black Narcissus is a solid listen btw. Will do
>>219830423Most people here have never even watched one of these
>>219830423>movie set in himalayas>filmed in england with matte paintingsdishonest filmmaking
>>219833830>Anon discovers for the first time that most films use built sets and don’t actually film on location
>>219833614Is that Bogdanovich on the right?
>>219833641To my deep shock and considerable delight I know all of them except Peeping Tom.(For some reason "...Life and Death", "Black Narcissus" and "...Colonel Blimp" in particular are often rerun out my way. It's just a shame OP didn't see fit to include "I Know Where I'm Going!", which is great).
>>219833995Yep. Wow that must have been a crowded table with all those egos. LOL. Still would have been great to sit and just listen to Houston and Welles talk. Someone mentioned Scorcese's commentary, I should also say Bogdanovich's commentaries are always worth listening to - Bringing Up Baby, for example, is both a film history class crossed with critic and film writer/director opinion piece. Brilliant stuff.
>>219830423Some of their films are just not good. Life and death is painfully cringe. A Canterbury Tale is bland and weak. The Red Shoes is probably their only truly essential film.
>>219834951Tryhard
>>219834951>A Canterbury Tale is bland and weakWhat's the matter, you don't like to see respectable honorable men punish wicked roasties for theoretical crimes that they might potentially commit in the future? The scene with the children fighting was kino though.
>>219830423The girl in The Red Shoes' ass got distracting.
>>219834951>Life and deathwhich one
I keep putting off Blimp because the synopsis makes me want to groan.
>>219830423I can’t OP, you have defeated me
>>219836168watch it anyway
