Ryan Reynold's was an annoying fag in every fucking thing that he was in around this time and he did this movie no favours at all. The villain and plot was contrived and it was trying to "pass the torch" in a franchise that could have had Snipes star in at least two or three more films within it before calling it quits but they fucked it up right out of the gate that soured him on the whole experience.

Had he thought within that line a little harder instead of jerking himself off to ressurrect a blood god, he could have had at least some semblance of a paramilitary group or standing army to take on and hunt down Blade but its likely those houses are unable to agree on anything, even when facing a very real existential threat.
