For the second film they made a new suit with sturdier materials, they also changed the colours to photograph better. The new suit required less maintenance and was much easier for Weller and the team to put on, though apparently because the crotch section was no longer made of foam rubber it was a little harder to walk in.The suit in RoboCop 3 is the same suit from 2, just with more toned down colours. Orion told Fred Dekker that he needed to try and keep the budget down and to re-use the RoboCop 2 suit, which meant needing to find an actor who was basically the same size to replace Weller. Poor John Burke though was slightly taller and had a larger head, which meant that the suit frequently cut into his skin during filming.
