So what is the method you use to watch downloaded videos on TV?

I usually put them on a USB stick and plug in to my TV or Xbox.

Raspberry Pi with direct access to my NAS

HDMI cable from laptop to telly.
No plex or anything stupid. Just double click the file and it plays. I have a single hard drive for film/tv. Once it gets full i delete the stuff i have seeded back to 110% ratio.
Some stuff i keep coz i will want to watch it more than once, but a lot of it gets deleted.

Every android TV can download VLC. Just do that and stream movies you download on your PC. VLC really is great for easily sharing media on your LAN.
