This place isn't much better. Every thread just also echo chambers or contrarian echo chambers jerking each other off for hating on whatever is popular. Then nitpicking every miniscule trivial perceived flaw and repeating criticisms someone made decades ago as if it's their true opinion. Real discussion here is punished since they get angry at anything longer than a couple sentences. They only want to cause others to seethe as much as possible.

They removed the forums because they didn't want people posting fan interactions with celebrities or insider info. Many actors had some variation of "I worked with this guy on "Movie X", I'm 75 now and don't give a fuck if they sue me, this guy was an asshole". Or "I met this actress outside a store in NY and she spat in me" or some shit.
You obviously can't verify the truth of these, but a lot of them would line up with other stories or clarify things.
They want production companies to buy ads, but they aren't going to do that if you let every tom dick and harry to say whatever they want about their golden geese.
Same reason they're taking down user reviews.
