When doing a twin role you need to make the characters distinguishable by their personalities. These two niggas were the same guy and also slept with the same hoes.

It was very telling that when the Sinners people won all their awards nobody but the cinematographer even remembered to include his name when they started thanking individual cast members. He's the best part of the movie but because he's white their literally not including him in the thanks lol.

Solid cast, great setup (in fact, I'd argue what the first ~ half of the movie until vampires shows up was the best part of it), and they do fuck all with it. Thematically, I don't now, it has zero sense. The big woman makes an argument that the vampires are dead, cursed creatures that are not the people they were in life. And everything that we see in the movie confirms that... Except that Smoke decides to not kill his brother and instead opts out for murder-suicide by KKK. Nigga doomed his twin for the eternity of damnation, real nice message you have here, Coogler.And these weird anti-Christian undertones, "they forced that shit on us", I'm not religious, but that felt like Coogler has a personal beef with Christianity.

I quite enjoyed my time in the cinema with it, but outside of the soundtrack and the several Remmick scenes I never gave it further thought. The amount of fellatio the film has gotten in (((online spaces))) is genuinely insane, as is the backlash of hate and bile that in turn triggered here. It's also mad that Coogler won best screenplay, when literally everyone -- even the diehard fans -- admit that the script is the weakest element of the film.
