Not making a chart butUnder the silver lakeCollateralSidewaysThe raid
>>219876267The long goodbye is subversive crap. Ruins a great book and replaces the main character with a kike. Altman famously never finshed the book because he is a hack. People say the film influenced The Big Lebowski, but they never said that and instead said Raymond Chandler's book directly influenced it.

>>219883199Have you seen Black Christmas
Extended ed. Shows, films, anime and music.
>>219883199This seems like an almost random selection of films. I mean "Project A-Ko"...of all things? It's fine, I laughed, but one of the best movies ever?? What are you smoking?Watch the "Magic Users Club" OVA from Triangle Studio if you think A-Ko is so great
>>219884449Hell yeah, all three versions. I'm a big, big horror fan.>>219884534It's not a Greatest chart, it's a Favorite chart. A-ko was the first anime I ever saw back in the early 90s and it was revelatory, I'd never seen anything like it. I watched it dozens of times as a kid, and still watch it about once a year. I'm aware of MUC but never got around to it. I loved how ridiculous A-ko was, the fan service, the action, the stupid comedy, even the English voice-acting.If the list seems random, that's just because I watch lots of different types of movies. They're absolutely some of the best of best, imo (obviously.)
>>219884617Ok, that makes sense. Are you guys just making the charts in paint? I'd make one but it's like 5am and I don't want to get on my PC to do it
>>219884626>DarkmanWhy not other Rami kinos?
>>219884674I only like Darkman and A Simple Plan
>>219884662>Are you guys just making the charts in paint?>>219876653
>>219884725Nice. I'll have to make one sometime but in the meantime here is a pic of every movie I've rated 5 star on letterboxed. Donnie Darko snuck in but it's only 4.5 stars.
>>219884800lol, Venus Wars was the THIRD anime I ever saw, on the same day. The Sci-fi Channel was doing a marathon. Dominion Tank Police was number two..
>>219884855Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like if I had cable at a young age. I literally only got to watch anime as a kid the once or twice a year I visited my grandparents home and stayed up to watch Toonami. And it wasn't even peak Toonami, it was mid 2000s when they got kinda basic. Still was nice to see the Naruto Chunin arc and Yu Yu Hakusho on TV at all.
>>219883182Admittedly I was being a wee bit provocative but Jud Süss is actually a great movie
>>219884522I love those second two albums so I'll check out the first.

>>219885806Why do you like Cobra so much? For me it's just a generic Stallone action movie.
>>219885874nta but Cobra is hilarious and it's insane that Stallone tried to combine an action movie with a slasher movie.Cobra anon should try out 10 to Midnight, a less ridiculous but still nutty Bronson movie that did the same thing.
>>219886035I saw Ms. 45 in a movie theater just last night. Kino experience.
Hello /tv/ I don't know too many movies so some recs would be appreciated

>>219886035I'd recommend Rollerball. I intended to put Thief in my list, but it wouldn't have fit the 3x3.
>>219882312>>219882562Essentially yes, very mean-spirited movie - but an absolute masterclass in fear and visceral violence. Depending on how old you are and where you’re from, you might be missing out on some cultural context though, it was a snapshot of the largely classist fears of the UK at the time - same with Harry Brown. Unfortunately it didn’t take any time to address those issues and went for pure misery instead. Still one of the few horror movies to make me genuinely uncomfortable though, even on rewatches I feel the tension before I’ve even started watching.
>>219886318I've seen Rollerball it's kino

Far from definitive, a mix of things I’ve watched lately and really enjoyed and some old favourites. Big into Southern Gothic, rural America, Hollywood decay, post 9/11 greyness.

off the top of my head 5 blockbuster trilogies ranked by personal enjoyment. Top down for the trilogies as a whole, left to right for individual rankings. The Dune Trilogy is a wildcard but I'm betting Messiah wont' be as good as part 2 but will make the trilogy as a whole potentially 3rd place, maybe better than Star Wars OT
everyone ever on this board who likes UTSL is just copying me. i liked it first.
>>219876267Should I do redux or Final cut for an Apocalpyse now rewatch? I first watched the theatrical cut many years ago and it didn't blow me away or anything. Think I'd like it more now, though
>>219893116if you like UTSL i assume you're a fakecel who watched it with a foid and associate the film with good feelings of intimacy because I cannot imagine a man enjoying that flick otherwise.
>>219893142I think I watched the Final Cut last. I guess I like that one the most
>>219893116Under The Silver Lake was kino as soon as it came out. Best movie of the 2010s easily. I really hope David Robert Mitchell's new dinosaur movie is good so he can make more original movies like that one. Best newer director in decades and he hasn't even made that many movies
