Why is the third one the highest rated even though its the weakest of the three?
>>219876945Why is Project Hail Mary highly praised on /tv/ while they shit on Ad Astra?
Because 9/10 people have only seen the third one. People that have seen all three usually agree that the first one is the best.
>>219876945Has the best title
Yojimbo & Sanjuro mog all of them.
>>219876945I easily prefer GBU over the 2nd>>219877087Overrated, rather watch Seven Samurai or Sword of Doom
It's by far the best of the three
the man with no name
>>219877207Marketing term if you didn’t know. He has a different name in all three movies.
>>219876945it happens
>>219876983Because Ad Astra was boring as hell. Even the moon pirate attack at the beginning was a yawn-inducing chore
>>219876945i think there's a strong argument that for a few dollars more is better (even though the last half hour of the good the bad and the ugly is better than anything in it, the civil war stuff is all boring), but there's just no argument that this is worse than the yojimbo remake
>>2198769452 > 3 > 1all fucking great
1 -> 2 -> 3
>>219877027What are you talking about? The first is widely considered the worst in Western circles, and would be a forgotten movie if it wasn't for the legacy of the next two.
>>219879893maybe if you haven`t seen a lot of movies? your taste will develop with time, be patient.
>>219879927I've forgotten more Westerns than you've even watched.
>>219876945I haven't seen for a few dollars more, but TGTBTU >>> A Fistful of Dollars
>better than the entire Dollar trilogy in your path
>>219876945I dunno but Arrow's packaging and cover art is way more appealing to me than Criterion'sCould do with the rainbow bar or the parental rating sticker crap tho. Damn yuros.
>>219878016No way, how can it possibly be rated higher than the first, or even the second?
Trinity films so brutally mog every other spaghetti western that they effectively killed the genre
>>219882384High plains drifter mogs this
>>219876945They're not even a trilogy. The "man with no name" has a different name in each movie. They just sold the movies to Americans as a trilogy, and the idiots just lapped it up.
>>219879927You’re an idiot. >>219879893 is correct here. For a Few Dollars More is the real gem of the trilogy. Took all the lessons learned in the first one and built from the foundation. 2 gets overshadowed because part 3 has the iconic genre moments, but as an overall watch it holds up far better imo. There are better Sartana movies than Fistful of Dollars.
>>219883768>Ackchyually...
>>219883768You're the only idiot who cares
>>219883449Because of Tuco. He is by far and away the best bad guy ever.
>>219877581Those are nicknames
the wild bunch is better than all 3
>>219885640I agree but I was referring to the image of the post I quoted, Toy Story
>>219883742High Plains Drifter has a cool title but is actually just boomer power fantasy trash. I caught a lethal dose of second hand embarrassment from watching it>>219877027I believe 2 is considered the best, but I prefer 1 the most. Fistful of Dollars is the most "pure" western imo, in that it shows the story of how a random guy can show up to a random town and make a big difference in it before moving on to another adventure somewhere else. This level of freedom is what westerns should be about. They all have their merits though
>>219886051High Plains Drifter is great. So may quotable lines and memorable scenes that continue to live on.(paint the town red)
>>219887383kino indeed, same as the pale rider
