S1 is one of the best shows in tv ever made.
What you call "reddit slop" dialogue is literally the ramblings of a schizo that's being constantly called and portrayed as a contrarian and even though he's competent at what he does, his partner clearly doesn't respect his point of views, considers him a broken man and questions his morals constantly.
It's only reddit if you agree with him, dumbo.
