Breaking News: blu rays, dvds, cds and vinyls are being removed from Australia's largest consumer electronics retailer. Physical chads... its truly over.
ayo that's a JB Hi-Fi
This is a good thing. Now maybe people will post director commentaries online and extra features from the media.I've been hoping for a pirate website that only posted director commentaries forever, but it has never happened.
>>219888726That usually comes as a secondary audio track. Just get a remux and it should come with those.
>>219888685>blu rays, dvds, cds and vinyls are being removed from Australia's largest consumer electronics retailerBut it's only for that specific store? They wrote on that piece of paper to go to the other stores?
Don't worry, on Steam you still have to pay more for the same product, because electronic (lol) shipment to Australia takes longer than within USA.
>>219888685>this obsolete storage medium is being removedNOOOOgotta quick go buy all our best songs on 8trach, movies on betamax and vidya on cassettes before its too late
>>219888726Its strange that the DVD extra era never made ISOs the scene format at the time.We lost all that cool DVD extras, intros etc.
>>219888854We also lost the kino menus.
>>219888737Yeah but it would be nicer to just be browsing through hundreds of popular movies you like and just instantly getting the commentary instead of searching for a specific movie to get the audio only from
>>219888892Yeah man its a shame.I mean its not really lost but not archived like say 700mb AXXO AVIs from the early 00s scene days.ISOs should have been the scene rules but it was/is about simple piracy, small downloads with decent quality.
>>219888854Indeed that is strange.I think they were more interested in just keeping file size down in that era though above all else.
>>219888685>Australiasome shit's getting flushed the wrong way down the toilet, who care
>>219888685>Removing BluraysThat sign says nothing about Blurays
>>219889039Yeah, strange was the wrong word. It genuinely was small file size but good quality scene rules so the entire DVD ISO data was not priority to preserve.Of course you could find ISOs of the old DVDs, especially on super secret clubs of fart sniffing cock gargling faggots but the scene has rules to share for all and 700mb avi was the rules at that time, a time when DVDs were having top tier menus and loads of extras.R elated note I watched (listened) to the commentary for tropic thunder and that shit was more comical than the movie.Just a bunch of the actors getting drunk/stoned and shit talking about the movie. Also RDJ does his negro personality from the movie (but iirc doesnt keep it up all commentary)I bet you could find that though desu
>>219888726Honestly, I've found most commentaries and extras just on YouTube
>>219888685Did you guys finally get enough internet to stream?
>>219888685This is right and just. Physical media may contain things that turn out to be problematic in the future.
>>219888726Funnily enough, there are director commentaries in Spotify podcasts. Or at least there was, I haven't checked Spotify in ages.
>>219888726Get access to a decent private kino torrent tracker. The current gold standard among seedfags for those torrents usually have remuxes of many languages and subs at various bitrates as well as full retail DVD ISO rips for every movie that sold more than a few copies and is good enough to watch today/again just with less seeders
>>219888825This would be a point if there was a new physical format to replace itWhat do you suggest, solid state?
>>219888685Fuck Saudi Australia. I will ALWAYS be a physical media chad, specifically a DVD chad. I haven't even made the switch to Blu Rays yet and won't. lol
>>219888825Thanks for commenting, unnecessary person.
>>219891273>solid state? It IS the new format.Though admittedly SS is self...deprecating I think the word is.It slowly decays more than other mediums, which is strange seeing is superceedes other mediums in every other way (I think)#Still, yes, SS Is the newest medium.Personally I will still stick with film (HDD) for long term storage and SS for short and software application but eventually SS will make HDD fully obsolete too, when it drops in price of course.
