Is this the most essential /tv/ core moment?

>le tozic masculinity
Yet Sally gets wetter than ever from this point forth over Barry
Makes you wonder
>>
>>219888798
The scene where he talks about stealing her work enemy's dog and replacing it with a slightly different dog.

there are few things I loathe more than when comedians try their hand at dramatic acting, it's even worse when they think they're good at it

Wasted and incorrect

I don't remember Nick Reiner having long blonde hair

All because he asked if he was famous? The writing got sloppy

Thank you satan. Truer words have never been spoken.

>was enjoying Barry
>Watched until a certain point in the third season or so where basically the writers said "oh you're enjoying this? Fuck you, chud! You shouldn't like this! Barry is a bad guy!"
>Like just this weird hostility for the first portion of the show
>Stop watching mid episode
Did they sack all the original writers and swap them out at some point? It shifted very suddenly.
>>
>>219889063
It think it was successful and low maintenance/budget enough that they got free reign to write whatever they wanted, but they forgot that they were writing Barry.
>>
It was kino...you just couldn't see it
>>
>>219889063
No the creator is a nepo baby and basically guaranteed success and connections post Barry, also he is otherwise set for life. He just decided to railroad the shows tone because he could, not many people have that ability, and he wanted to show it off. Really it wasnt only a fuck you to the audience, but a fuck you to writers/directors who lack creative freedom on their own shows.

Same here. That's the point where I jumped ship too.
Those moments always piss me off.
>oh no we can't have this! 180°! Quick!!
Like that one episode in the office where that offensive guy that was always fun comes back, and the entire episode is spent on throwing him under the bus, because the writers read too many online comments where ppl called him based.

When you see a comedic actor grow a beard, drama’s on the way!

That didn’t happen zoomie. The internet back then was nothing like the one now.

The true reason why women wouldnt act like this, is they will smile, pretend everything is OK, and then dedicate the next 5 decades to revenge
>>
>>219889063
You didn't see him as a bad guy after he killed his family man friend and hallucinated the wife and kid getting the news of his death so he could act better?

That's what the other woman is doing. She's recording everything with her phone.
>>
>>219889921
Yes, there's the reality that of course a hitman is an evil murderer, but they also implied that he greatest flaw was that he's horny for what's-her-face, not the murders.
>>
>>219889934
You're right, go watch Transformers instead.
>>
great show but the final season is forgettable. seasons 1-2 were kino
>>
>>219888798
I think they fucked up in making the show lean less into the sit-com/prestige comedy format. The impact of the first few seasons was from the contradiction between the actual bare facts of what Barry was doing when compared to the comedic framing and pacing. I understand why they did it, normies don't like complexity in their stories, but it was a mistake for the quality.

What the fuck are you talking about you schizo. So he isn't evil because he is horny? LOL

>If you're a former contract killer, one bad day away from a Xanax overdose, or just looking for a good time, the hottest new LA club for you is BARRY
>Located in rural hell and built on an ancient Indian burial ground, this dreamlike hangnail of a building is the perfect place to pass out in your own urine in a bathtub.
>This place has everything; small children, strangely upsetting facts about Abraham Lincoln, and walls filled to the brim with military weaponry.

Tragedy and comedy go hand in hand. Chances are if your a good comedian you will be a good dramatic actor. Not saying Bill Hader is one though
>>
>>219888798
This show was awful. Bill Hader is a terrible actor
>>
>>219890774
Fuchs finding out about barry’s kid in the end was the only part i remember
>>
>>219889233
She's Janet, so I immediately take her side over Sally.
>>
Why did the Barry acting career plotline get dropped completely in season 3
I wanted to see Barry balance being a super famous A list actor and being a killer for hire and a family man.

Bill Hader just wanted to skip to the it all falls apart arc
>>
>>219889921
this is what I was gonna bring up. he's a psycho who isn't le based even in the first two seasons before the "180"

I'm positive when they wrote and filmed this it was seen as courageous and awe inspiring but if you're not some dumb jew retard you see it as a below average women sperging out over nonsense.
>>
>>219892996
Because it was never about acting for him. Just getting validation and praise from others while chasing the Amerikkkan dream

The show can be summed up in this one clip
>>
>>219893820
>I'm positive when they wrote and filmed this it was seen as courageous
sorry but you sound exactly as retarded (if not more) as you think those writers are. It was very obviously supposed to be a funny scene, like most of her tantrums. This was supposed to be a serious scene. Get your shit together
>>
>>219892288
>Chances are if your a good comedian you will be a good dramatic actor
bullshit
if this was true there would be dozens of examples of good comedians making the transition from comedy to tragedy, but there aren't
>>
>>219893820
Not at all, media illiterate-kun. The White woman is portrayed as paranoid and entitled and unhinged at the prospect of being replaced, even just little, by a new generation of young brown competitors.
>>
>>219889063
you stopped at a good stopping point, the show and the formula became something else entirely after season 2
>>
>>219893957
I always felt like Sally was lying about or at least exaggerating the abuse by her first husband and this scene actually gives her the trauma she'd been faking to further her career.
>>
>>219889921
That is literally the exact moment I dropped the show. Was watching it with my brother and just got up and walked out of the room.
>>
Sally is cute and made to be choked during sex

I used to do that shit, when he got frustrated as shit and smacked his head. Finaly stopped shortly after since it was so embarassing desu.
