He's fighting the mob as best he can but he fucking sucks at fighting and is constantly having to sabotage shit and be as stealthy as he can to survive. He basically uses stealth and detective work to black mail everyone in the city, he black mails the entire mayor's office, the chief of police, ect, everyone has ties with the mob. He copies all of this evidence and mails it to every news station in Gotham. There's no getting away with it. He doesn't wear any kind of Bat costume at this point. He's in a pre Batman make shift urban ninja get up, not unlike what we already see in the movie. He's frustrated that he cannot go toe to toe with bad guys like he wants, he wishes he could do more than just take pictures, aquire evidence, and hide away.Enter Rahs Al Ghul and the League of Shadows, who show up at the very END (not the beginning) of the movie, and are impressed with what Bruce has accomplished in Gotham all by himself. They offer Bruce real ninja training and a chance to become something better....ROLL CREDITS.

>>219889951The Dark Knight: movie opens up with another mob outfit scene, except something is very different here, they're scared, but not only are they scared, but so is the Gotham PD, between the events of Batman Begins and TDK Bruce has been training with the LoS and for the first time he shows up as Batman, and he resembles nothing like how was in the previous movie, this guy is a complete monster. He single handedly wipes out entire teams of bad guys and swat teams alike at will. This guy is fucking nuts, and has the Batsuit now which was made with the help of the LoS (not Lucius fox). Batman at this point is also starting to become increasingly violent, he's doing things with his new found honed training that's putting bad guys within an inch of dying, some don't even make it after being taken to the hospital. Batman's actions over the last few months have also woken up his real rogues gallery. Enter Joker, who's not so concerned with the mob this time, he's absolutely obsessed with Batman and what he's able to get away with. He's fascinated by the amount of violence he's caused. The league of shadows are also concerned with how disruptive and almost uncontrollable Batman is getting, it is in this movie that Batman starts to develop his no kill rule, he's pit between the Joker egging him on to break free and start murdering criminals straight up, and the League of shadows trying to curb him back and keep a rule of law. The climax is Batman killing the Joker, and kicking the league of shadows out of Gotham, but retaining his newly created no kill rule after joker's death, he now becomes a much more self aware Batman. One who has to maintain a line, now he truly is Batman as we know it, movie ends with Batman gliding over the city and ominous as to what kind of new villainy could possibly appear next that could go toe to toe with him.3rd movie is basically open to whatever
