'Being remembered' is such a crock of shit. After 50 years everyone will have forgotten you were even alive. After 100 years only the most famous people will still be remembered and it only gets worse after that. How many people can your average man on the street name from the 19th century? Two? Three? From the 18th? The 17th? You're probably down to almost zero the further back in time you go. And worse there's virtually no difference between those who lived a long life versus those who died young. Or it's often very idiosyncratic in terms of who gets remembered.Leonardo da Vinci lived until he was 67 - a long and full life by all accounts. He's arguably much more famous than Raphael or Masaccio, both of whom died young.
