It seems like it's kinda accepted that they want to have years taken away from them during the dice game but I'm not sure that's actually the case. The way Bill says they wager "the only thing they have left, years of service" could also mean the opposite. and none of them seem too unhappy. also they chose to be part of the crew so they could postpone death

that's actually a good point. I wonder if any of them asked to stay a little longer, but maybe you'll always fuse with the ship way before the 100 years are up which would be another reason to want to reduce years of service

If it's zero sum couldn't they just pick a nigga that's about to die like that one embedded in the ship, load him up with everybody's years, and the whole crew peaces the fuck out? Would Davy Jones let it happen? Or would he go full jewish casino?
