crazy how he looks like the least intimidating antagonist but managed to make it kino
>>219915213>blocks you path, nothing personal, mercury boi
>>219915213Cameron's original idea for the terminator looking like a 100% average person and that's what makes it terrifying sounds good but really difficult to pull off. He did alright
>>219915213Why would an infiltration unit not look unassuming?
>>219915213he really need arnold for the contrast. if you tried to make terminator 1 with just good physical acting from a basically normal guy it would feel like the normal early '80s corman B movie it was budgeted to be
>>219915213He looks clearly sociopathic. Definitely the type of cop who would get off to hurting you just for the power trip.
The original Terminator (1) was going to be Lance Henriksen but the studio wanted Arnold instead. Honestly a good call on the studio's part, and once James proved himself he got the chance to make a "infiltrator Terminator" with Robert Patrick in T2.
Laughs in Clarence Boddicker.
>>219916509that guy was perfect
>>219915455>Cameron's original idea for the terminator looking like a 100% average personNigga he wanted O J Simpson
>>219915213>>219916509Both absolutely god tier casting choices
>>219917749If I saw this gang walking down the street I'd piss myself laughing at how goofy they were
>>219917697For the zoomers who don’t know, OJ Simpson was a big guy.
>>219917749>>219917797Same energy.
>>219916202this nigga would've been creepy as fuck but yeah it's one of dozens of movies that wouldn't work without that hulking lisping austrian
>>219917831oh yeah that's the critical info we want to spread about oj simpson huh
>>219915213>he looks like the least intimidating antagonistIs this bait? That guy was scary as fuck
>>219915213It’s almost like that was the point or something.
>>219916202He obviously got to make Lance an iconic robutt in Aliens too, so it all worked out.
>>219915213The original line for the iconic “I’ll be back” line was “I’ll come back”, but Cameron didn’t like Arnold’s ESL delivery, so he changed it to “I’ll be back,” which Arnold argued should be “I will be back” because he’s playing a robot. It was the inspiration for the “UP AND AT THEM” joke from the Radioactive man movie episode of The Simpsons.
>>219915213It's called acting, dear
>>219917797And they'd shoot you in the face
>>219917749A lot of real life dangerous people have the Chuddiker phenotype. >>219917975Yes? It’s not like Cameron knew he was going to be a murderer when he was casting Terminator.
>>219917831>OJ Simpson was a big guy.
>>219918012Agreed. Lance is great in any role.
>>219917150>that guyKurtwood Smith. He also played Red Forman on The 70's Show.
>>219915213I like his face for an antagonist, especially for a robotic automaton. He looks exactly like what a soulless alphabet boy who would do horrible evil shit for the government without a single moment of remorse or reconsideration should look like. He would have made a better Men In Black star than Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones
>>219917697why would skynet design an infiltration robot designed to blend in and pick OJ Simpson and be the only black guy in the area? seems a little retardedThis must have been when people were shooting down Cameron's more dumbass ideas instead of letting him run free to spend 20 years making avatar slop
Training himself to not blink when he was firing a gun was a neat touch.
>>219915213It's scary how he takes the appearance of a police officer, someone that you can trust and who protects you, and uses is to commit acts of evil. In the real world police officers are the good guys, but this movie exploits that natural trust that people feel for police and makes it scary.
>>219916202He was only 28 years old here.
>>219915213Robert Patrick is a classic kino enhancer the fuck you mean?
>>219916509Dumbass!
>>219918397Just a kid.
>>219915268shoulda bet with his head, not over it
>>219915213>>219915455With him, Cameron finally got the Terminator he always envisioned it as. While Arnold is iconic in the role, it would have been interesting to see Lance Henriksen in the role. >>219917697Wasn't it the producers, who tried to get OJ for the part and Cameron said no, as OJ just didn't look like a killer to him?
>>219918304>He would have made a better Men In Black star than Will Smith or Tommy Lee JonesActual, genuine, paranormal, alien-spook MIBs were not the vibe they were going for in the "MIB" franchise, anon. It was a playful spin on the phenomenon. If RP was going to be cast in an MIB role, it would have to be an entirely different script.
>>219918563Yea I know. I hated MIB
It's a shame Robert Patrick butchmaxxed irl.
>>219918581I think the first two were a lot of fun. Great for what they were.
>>219915213>"he's a good looking boy"Could this be said now?
>>219919715When no prison can hold you? Hell yeah, diddle as hard as you can
>>219915213The terminator using a cop disguise hit hard when T2 came out because oldfags were naive and brainwashed to think the authorities were always the good guys. Its a cultural norm probably missed today as zoomers probably just assume the terminator would naturally be a zogbot.
>>219918410>the fuck you mean?He wrote an entire post explaining what he meant, did you not understand it?
>>219920573Because all cops are bastards.
Skynet was so well-versed on human anatomy, it was able to program the T1000’s liquid metal to replicate 35 years of heavy drinking and irish genetics
>>219917749>evil guys are their balding or blackhmmmm
>>219922727>frogposters are their [sic] retarded or redditorsUh-huh.
>>219918383Are you Bri'ish by any chance, dear?
>>219916202I wouldn't then be surprised if Cameron's intial idea for terminator was that mute assassin from end of Scarface. Lance had similar middle-aged lanky body type.
>>219915213he has the crooked cop phenotype, perfect for appearing friendly to some and menacing to others
>>219918273I can't believe his real name is even sillier than Clarence
>>219922665At least he was able to terminate and cuck Mulder before the potato genes kicked in.
>>219924049British police will arrest you for mean tweets or for throwint a ham sandwich inside a mosque
>>219926206He also traveled to other galaxy only to job. That's dedication.
>>219925195Huh, you might be right
Fucking loved him in that Outer Limits episode
>>219915213https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TgibX4BCYBw&pp=ygUjcm9iZXJ0IHBhdHJpY2sgdGVybWluYXRvciAyIGNhc3Rpbmc%3DYoung Robert Patrick was relentlessly handsome.I want to kiss him relentlessly.
>>219927356I find your relentless homosexuality relentlessly endearing.
>>219927220>that Outer Limits episodeEpisodes*. Probably two of the better ones.
>>219916509Foots, asses
