About to watch this, what am I in for?
>>
>>219918877
Its entertaining for a while but the major story line about Micheal being burned just keeps going nowhere and the episodic stuff gets too formulaic and when they add the black guy the group dynamic get thrown off a bit.
Basically you'll watch it for a few seasons then drop it like everyone else does.
>>
it's a fun show
>>
Is it about fire investigation?
>>
>>219918877
The central storyline never really lives up to the hype but the cases of the week are fun pretty much throughout. A lot more realism than your average network show, a lot of the gadgets and tricks Michael and the gang uses are real spycraft

It's pretty much reddit meets netflix meets globohomo feminism. Basically it's feminism the show made to hypnotise the viewer into thinking "white men bad" and "POC women good". There isn't really much more to this dreary show than that.

Perfect description. It was fun, Bruce Campbell makes everything fun, and the Irish wench is good although she does get insufferable after a while. I liken it to Eureka, just silly fun.

looks like hollywood put a "burn notice" on Jeffrey Donovan LMAO

It’s as good as a show made for cable TV can be. There’s nothing particularly memorable or provocative about it. The characters are all cardboard cutouts. The writing was done by committee.
It’s something you put on in the background while you’re cooking dinner.

really fun, probably the best of USA/SyFy's blue sky shows
had an irreverent tone but never got campy like some of the other shows like Psych or Monk or Eureka, it having a base level of seriousness made it so when shit got real it didn't feel like a gimmick
Bruce Campbell just gets to be Bruce Campbell the whole time
you could argue the underlaying story about Michael being burned started meandering but because 90% of the show was case-of-the-week it still worked
the Irish chick gave me a thing for wiry MILFs that Rebecca Ferguson later solidified
it's also fun to imagine the operator from Sicario is the same character

>pounding club music
>neon lights
>camera audibly wooshing around the scene
>10/10 extras dancing in bikinis
>ethnic rapping
>the drug kingpin is quaffing champagne with a group of 11/10 groupies
>suddenly a leather skeleton wearing a curtain enters the scene
>all heads turn to follow her
>the drug kingpin locks eyes with her
>he leaves his pouting harem to go talk to her
>she introduces herself
>*horrible fake accent* "my name is monteclaure dewinters and I think drugs and murder are really hot, can we go hang out in your back office where you hide your evidence?"
>he makes kissy lips and leads her by the hand
>bruce campbell orders another mojito

Michael Westen: [voice-over] My name is Michael Westen. I used to be a spy. Until...
voice on phone: [phone rings] We got a burn notice on you. You're blacklisted.
Michael Westen: [voice-over] When you're burned, you've got nothing: no cash, no credit, no job history. You're stuck in whatever city they decide to dump you in.
Michael Westen: Where am I?
Fiona Glenanne: Miami.
Michael Westen: [voice-over] You do whatever work comes your way. You rely on anyone who's still talking to you. A trigger-happy ex-girlfriend...
Fiona Glenanne: Shall we shoot them?
Michael Westen: [voice-over] An old friend who used to inform on you to the FBI...
Sam Axe: You know spies... bunch of bitchy little girls.
Michael Westen: [voice-over] Family too...
Sam Axe: [phone rings] Hey, is that your Mom again?
Michael Westen: [voice-over] ... if you're desperate.
Madeline Westen: Someone needs your help, Michael!
Michael Westen: [voice-over] Bottom line? Until you figure out who burned you... you're not going anywhere

Would’ve been a lot better with Campbell as the lead and no Fiona whatsoever but it’s solid
