Holy shit

I don't remember any diner

this is such a great example of a mandela effect that no one even remembers it.

Collateral is part 2 to Heat. It's a hello and goodbye to an era of Los Angeles.
>>
>>219922316
Part of the reason why is because he invites him for a coffee, and he arrests him randomly on a highway, so you don't expect them to end up in a high place, just some casual random diner. Also you're too focused on them so your brain kind of automatically fill in the details based on the expectations.

Waingro obviously isn't though, and several of the others have personal problems too. Kilmer and DeNiro are pretty on top of their shit, which is reasonable enough that some of them are and some of them aren't. The film doesn't display all of them as super competent.

>>
>>219924301
I would say Kilmer is actually the strongest actor in the entire cast of the film, despite having nowhere near as much screen time as the rest. you could strip his dialogue down even further and it would still be perfect.
>>
>>219927043
I'd agree. His character had to show more range than most others, and his smile-operator in a split second couldn't have been more perfect.

>I'm sure
And this is where your ego causes the collapse of any individuality you may have mustered from a slight amount of awareness.
Here's a crazy and fun theory for you instead to chew on:
How do you know that all the "changes" you notice actually aren't true at all, and the reason you remember that so clearly is that they used advanced frequency technologies to manipulate false memories into you and people online noticing those memories don't match the reality of whatever has been going to forums to bitch about it and thus reporting successful results of fake memory implantation back to the originators via no form of direct contact or clear connection?

This both falls in line more with the historical use of mind control and the techniques which were used in prior mind control attempts, along with the narrative of human mind programming projects which entirely revolve around implanted manipulated memories rather than magically editing a human's mind or all of reality.

And of course, they'd let people roll with these conspiracies because it both masks what is actually happening and points people in the completely wrong direction while also making the perpetrators seem far more powerful (control over all reality and time) than they are (control over how you view the world because you're easily drugged and hypnotized by the million hypnosis devices all around you that you stare at all day every day)

But you see, the ego struggles to accept it has been tampered with; it is immune to anything and invulnerable to everything. Not so true, I suppose, and because of this heady narcissism you get people who will never accept they've had their mind fucked around with, they would sooner accept that some intelligence agency has god-like power and can manipulate the entire history of things to be different, but that would make them more powerful than the ego so of course they're also stupid and you somehow cunning by not being fully affected.
