Haven't seen the new season yet. Only watched season 1. It's just hard to take Fisk becoming Mayor seriously after he very publicly not only went to prison for murder and arms trafficing and drugs (drugs i could be wrong about, i dont completely remember), but also attempted to escape police custody very publicly.
The whole all cops are corrupt bastards, the system is rigged stich can only be taken so far and extreme before it becomes bad writing.

You can absolutely can do Mayor Fisk, the problem is the show just skipped any buildup for it because Marvel immediately and only wanted to transfer Daredevil and Kingpin from the original show and nothing else.

There's also the awkwardness because the scale of that storyline absolutely necessitates various major MCU players being involved, and really it's the only way to one-up S3, to transform Fisk into an Avengers-level threat. But they can't do that because Marvel is saving them for Doomsday.

Like, as of the latest episode, he basically has reason to believe that BB is the reason he had to bury or chop up a body, and is still trying to protect BB because his heart doesn't seem to be in this criminal conspiracy shit.

S1 wasn't really "realistic" as much as it was a "back to the basics" story of a vigilante uncovering a criminal conspiracy while we see him slowly learn to refine his methods and missions every episode, S3 was the same way where he's nerfed from injuries.

You can't really do that in Born Again, where Daredevil has been superheroing for 12 years in-universe and is decked out with equipment on top of improved senses. But maybe we'll get some of that grit back in BA S3 since it will be about Matt stuck in prison

I gave up on S1 of Born Again halfway through because it was so garbage and nothing like the Netflix kino. And then these threads kept insisting that THIS season was a return to form, so I gave it a chance.

It still fucking sucks. The music, choreography, cinematography, the way characters talk and interact, the special effects. EVERYTHING is off. Dialogue between characters feels too quick and weightless, like they're all rushing through their lines. Charlie Cox now has to play a retarded character and the ever present lines on his forehead aren't helping. I should be excited about the Netflix characters like Karen and Dex interacting but it just pisses me off even more because it reminds me of how great the show was over there.
