I think this season was fine.
Rare to see trauma, death and killing taken at least somewhat seriously in superhero stuff.
Oliver and Nolan on that one planet where you'd see Nolan even moderately respecting animal life, his attempt at redeeming himself would've felt really hollow if he'd just be chummy with humans and then with no thought killing everything else.
Mark's fear and trauma is really neat too, even back in season 1 when he was struggling to stay focused against the Flaxans with civilians dying around him, and now with him being scared of Thragg killing everyone he knows. Seen too much of a main hero just powering up and being angry and then beating the bad guy.
I genuinely appreciate those two aspects.

Mark in the Comics gives Thragg a bloody nose and should be stronger than Nolan by now. Mark in the show is still a giant pussy that shouldn’t have been able to beat Conquest, and Thragg is so strong that it seems like he could beat the other 40 Viltrumites himself 1v40.

Also, Allen is kind of a pussy. Mark is supposed to eventually be somewhat Thragg’s peer (although weaker) and can defeat Thragg with assistance from his friends. With show Thragg, it doesn’t make any sense for Mark to not get one-shotted at the end of the series.

Also, Allen is supposed to beat Nolan’s ass next season, and that’s gonna look stupid too because they made Allen a pussy.

Comic’s Thragg is like 1.5x-2.0x what Conquest is. He can be manhandled by like 4-5 decent Viltrumites. Show Thragg is basically Frieza.
