Then by Season 2 they stopped caring already and the show became exclusively about the cast bouncing from one safe haven to the next fucking everything up for the locals before moving on. Zombie origins or what was going to be done about the zombies was never discussed, explained, or explored.Also ten years after the outbreak, or longer, and there are still hordes of zombies roaming about. This is despite the fact that I know there is a scene in TWD series, in the earlier Seasons, which shows the zombies becoming weak and docile and perhaps even slowly "dying" if they go a long time without eating. This of course is abandoned eventually and zombies become video game NPC monsters that never die unless you kill them, and who sometimes can be torn apart with your bare hands and sometimes have bodies as tough as a normal human. Sometimes even stronger.
Zombies turn on each other. Soon, there are many different factions, with their own history, architecture and religion. 10,000 years go by and zombies are ruling the Earth. 500,000 millenniums later, the universe is silent. But suddenly, there's knock on the door...
