Actual Christians kinda hate that movie because it goes against the idea that Jesus was sinless
I'm not a Christian though and I thought it was extremely interesting and thought-provoking

When you have Pony on the Street 3 among your favorites I can't take you seriously and can only assume you're retarded. What movie is good is ultimately subjective for every watcher though. Some are objectively better than others, but that doesn't matter for how much you like it, especially when you're dumb.

Not at all. The first ten that came to mind (I'm just an eighties kid). Most, if not all, are absolute mainstream (we're not talking about Yoshishige Yoshida, Pedro Costa, or Paulo Rocha tier, precisely...).

From your list, I admit I don't like anything by Nolan, Wes Anderson, or Guillermo del Toro. I'd only keep *To Live and Die in L.A.* (my favorite Friedkin film), *Ran* (which was in my top ten), and Curtiz's film (although I can think of a hundred better westerns).

Cheers.

>Every single one of you is lying. Your top 10 is list you trying to be cool, edgy, funny etc.
>The only true way to know what you like is to show us your top 10 most watched films. Not fake curated lists to get (you's)
Are you aware that not everyone here is autistic enough to have a Letterboxd account or similar, like that Elysium fan troll? So far, the only thing I've seen here is sincerity (except in the case mentioned). Limitations, whatever you want, but a sincerity that, regardless of your opinion, is respectable. In my case, I've been collecting movies on physical media since the eighties, and I don't want some damn internet database recording how many times I watch a movie or how many times I go to the toilet at night.

Curious list. Love the Polanski one and Straight Story (and the Mel Gibson and Eastwood ones too). Not my fave Scorsese or Leone, though.

Reinforces the theological weight of Christ as a role and title rather than just a name.

"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God", said St. Peter.

I really liked this one but it did feel a little bit like Imperial Japan propaganda which rubbed me the wrong way
I understand that the film was from the characters' perspective and those characters would hold those views, but still. Idk if there was a better way to do it, I guess.
>>
>>
>>219971094

You should just feel the creator is sus instead. Japan is not good at war propaganda. It was crowdfunded and took years for a small team to make.

It's the film that set the tone for all of Lynch's later works. It has the best performances of a Lynch film, and it's a great depiction of a seedy suburban underbelly of America. The better question is what Lynch films do you put above it?

Upon reflection I've come to the conclusion that people put Blue Velvet on their list because it's an easy gateway to a director like Lynch, it's a very palatable, lukewarm and safe opinion. It's not even in his top three.

As a true sinophile I must accept that I live in a society of midwit normies, even on 4chan.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!!

Not them, but Blue Velvet is kino. Not the best Lynch had to offer, but still very effective as a film. For me, it's on the same level as Lost Highway. Mulholland Dr. remains my favorite Lynchian nightmare.
