Find a flaw
>>219942557It loses steam once they get to the basement and you realize that instead of an extended cat and mouse game where Hugh Grant fucks with them in mansion he turned into an elaborate escape room, he's just going to kill them with a knife. Also killing Soapy off drops the movie down a notchGreat first half though
>>219942557It is-pardon my language-reddit tier
>>219942557Never got no goddamn blueberry pie
>>219942557I hate to say it, but Sofie Thatcher's weird bogged face.
>>219942557Trite and cringy dialogue
>>219942557I thought that was Joe Biden
the last half of the movie?
>>219942557Mormon female missionaries have strict rules NEVER to go into a man's house without a man Mormon specifically so that they don't get held captive by a redditor and be forced to watch him fedorapost irl. So it would never happen.
>>219942557>Find a flawI was going to say lack of rape, but honestly seeing women being tortured from being forced to learn religious history was very entertaining.
>>219944292thats why its a movie, fiction, you get it
>>219943084This. once they go down the stairs to the basement it feels like the movie ran out of ideas. ".....and then hugh grant has a bunch of random old captured women locked in cages and hes obsessed with control or something."
>>219944408Yeah it sucks that Grants' character decides that religion is simply a means of control by some malfeasant human originator, and not that it could ever develop otherwise - like coping with the fear of death, asking why we exist at all, wondering the origins of spectacular natural phenomena... A smart atheist would allow the possibility of religion developing "earnestly" among bright-eyed early hominids, instead of assuming the whole thing was a grift from the start. Then again a psychopath probably just wants an excuse to put people in cages.
It feels like they made a trailer and then didn't know how to actually make a movie about it.
>>219942557got to about halfway then someone took a shit on the script and everyone just gave up
>entire plan hinges on swapping the prophet >only able to do it because the Mormon guy rings his doorbell and the girls use that distraction to try and escapeSo what was his original plan if the dude didn't ring the bell? He didn't appear to be making any effort to move the girls away from the body long enough to do the swap. In fact he was demanding that they continously watch it to prove the miracle.

>>219942557>Find a flawThe second half of the movie.
>>219942557>Find a flawthere should have been a twist where he has a good guy and the religious people killed him
>>219943084This. The trailers knew what they were doing marketing it as they did.
