What did we think of it?

>Two 2d animated characters
>They still have to use cgi for Coyote's animations
2d animation is fucking dead. Dropped.
>>
>>219943150
Its actually a full blown Looney Tunes movie and not just a Coyote vs Roadrunner skit.

Bring back the Space Jam writers
>>
>CG Looney Tunes
literally NO ONE wants to see this. how do you fumble a concept so fundamentally?
>>
>>219943331
this reminded me they made a sequel with that basketball player everyone hates
>>
>>219943374
>that basketball player everyone hates
yeah don’t narrow it down at all or anything
>>
Acme? ACK you!
>>
>>219943374
>that basketball player everyone hates
Dennis Rodman?
>>
>>219943355
Retard, people lost their fucking SHIT because a greedy JEW CUNT decided to "cancel" this movie for a fucking tax write off.

This movie's about to make bank out of SPITE.
>>
>>219943401
>inbefore the movie is a dud with critics but makes 1 billy
>>
>>219943401
i'm pretty sure those people thought it was gonna be like The Day the World Blew Up or whatever it was called and not this lazy looking CGI slop animation. the animation was the main draw and that turned out to be a lie. I was one of those people sad to hear about it being cancelled and after seeing the trailer my interest is dead.
>>
>>219943429
I don't know about 1 billion, but I'd give a conservative estimate of a few hundred million. Somewhere in the 300-500 million range.
>>
>>219943434
I have never heard of that one so on that aspect alone it makes sense why they decided to just shelve another one
>>
This is funnier than Space Jam, but it isn't as charming or uplifting
>>
>>219943150
It will be funny when critics and audiences hate it
>>

> No 2D animation AND Will Forte
Dropped
>>
What do we think of it?
I think I understand why they shitcanned it, unfortunately. Maybe WB Execs were the real heroes all along
>>
>>219943641
>Thank you for your post. $0.02 has been deposited into your account
>>
>>219943737
we get paid way less than that bro. We wouldn’t have to work for a week on that.
>>
>>219943513
the problem is that Back in Action had /ourguy/ Brendan, while this movie only has Cena. I don't think he'll be enough to carry this movie
>>
>>219943150
I like how Will Forte didn't even bother shaving for this role
>>
>>219943150
John Cena sucks so hard
>>
>>219943834
I'd argue Will Forte is a decent draw. The man's got a history of good comedy roles and seeing him as a Saul Goodman style sleazy attorney should be pretty funny.

This shit is going to flop and prove once and for the well-known fact that EXECS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT, and that creatives are retarded morons.
>>
>>219945349
money should not determine what does and does not get made

Foghorn Leghorn was also clearly 3D
>>
So much hype around this when they canned it, what if it just fucking sucks and thats why they never released it? How will toontroons react?
>>
>>219947203
The “hype” was people correctly expressing bafflement at
>spend millions to make a thing
>destroy the thing
>???
>PROFIT!
>>
>>219947203
>>219947259
It was a lot of people’s first experience of Hollywood accounting in action.
>>
>>219943150
This looks like the kind of movie you pump out between 2 high quality Looney tunes movies when the property isnt in the shitter
>>
>>219947329
feel free to name five other instances of Hollywood, or anyone, spending over ten figures on something they’d just destroy, and would profit from it.
>>
>>219947259
>>219947203
What if they were worried it ruin the wily coyote canon like The Force Awakens.
>>
>>219947342
Or release it on a streaming platform that used to have cartoons.
>>
>>219947507
Or it came out 10 years ago and noone cared because a bigger better movie came out so now everyone's kind of warm on it as an underrated 7/10
>>
>>219947396
It doesn’t have to be destroyed literally for tax write offs, property acquisition, third party contractual obligations to be met etc.
Big obvious examples from recent history would be the likes of some of the Star Wars films, and the marvel ones. That Indiana Jones abomination. Bigger budget projects that clearly were not aimed at the audience and were never going to recoup their budget.
>>
>>219947616
>big examples are [things that made money]
>>
>>219947764
You might want to run through some of the recent entires into those franchises, lil bro. The Marvels was one of the most expensive flops in history.
I suspected when you asked the question that you were asking in bad faith, but thanks for at least opening up the conversation so that others can look into it. Shalom.
>>
>>219943150
>The following trailer is released for account purposes only.
I don't get it.
Are they admitting it was fraud?
>>
>>219947912
You were tasked with giving examples of >>219947259. You failed. As for whatever reason, you conflated actively and publicly announcing you were not going to allow a product to generate any revenue, as the tax write off would be greater, with released things simply not generating a return on the investment.
>>
I like the trailer leaning into the controversy but I can't help but feel this is a case where the metanarrative eclipses the quality of the movie itself
>>
>>219947954
Yeah Foghorn Leghorn is going to prison. Fucking retard.
>>
>>219947954
jesus christ you are retarded
>>
>>219943834
Back In Action was a huge bomb, you have no idea what you are talking about
>>
>>219947203
It performed very well in test screenings.
>>
>>219947954
All accounting after a certain level of complexity is fraud, yes. The goal is to make sure no one can ever make sense of it.
>>
>>219948017
Well I say I say you are jumping to conclusions. I think he is innocent, son.
>>
>>219948012
It scored very high with test audiences so I think your fears are unfounded desu.
>>
>>219945349
I am going to watch this movie ten times in theaters.

It was a success in my heart.

The director (creator of Uncle Grandpa hilariously enough) is doing some Pokemon thing for Netflix.
