They call him Shai-hulud. This is odd, because Shai-hulud is a Fremen word and the Fremen people aren't even established for another five thousand years. Despite taking place 10,000 years before the books, everyone talks using language from the year 10,191 instead of the year 148. It immediately took me out of the experience. Why the fuck would the Sisterhood know anything about the Fremen, Shai-Hulud, or any of that shit when they haven't even established the culture on Arrakis? Even actors I enjoy, like Mark Strong, couldn't make the show feel any grander than a 1970's BBC Stage Play. The 'twists' and 'turns' of the first season weren't just implausible, they were unfathomably boring.

I love Dune but when I saw this show was written and directed by women and had female show runners I decided to never watch it. And I was right again because like every show created by women this was trash apparently
