Just finished this series. Excellent show, but they fucked up tying the knot. Season 5 by all means is a better season than most shows can give but still fucked up that ending. Trying to compare what carver did to cooliochio whith what kima did to mcnulty (and the entire bpd crew) is completely retarded, even jimmy just brushin that off at the end when they meet, that should have been a nig betrayal. The show has multiple corrupt members of the municipality, yet they all pretend what mcnulty did was even close to as bad as what theyve been hiding for years, anyway, just my opinion.
Bump
Yeah. may go for like a 5th rewatch. season 5 is the weak point of it all but still good.
Also. I am glad they remastered it. Wish they would remaster Oz as well.
>>219954424>5th rewatchholy fuck, do you do that with shows in general or just the wire specifically, btw whats your opion on that scene where in hopes to persuade mcnulty, bunk brings lester to him, and instead lester ends up accelerating mcnultys scheme, that whole scene in the interrogation room is peak comedy, masterclass acting when mcnulty realizes the genius in freamons plan and his face slowly changes, him and bunk metaphorically changin places
>>219954424Rookie>>219953785Kima is the model police good girl didnu lesbian power fantasy character. She doesn’t cut corners and is the moral compass for all rest of the characters.
>>219953785Wait a minute, that outfit…
>>219955385>Kima’s lesbianism 0.01 seconds after trying that McNutt
>>219955266i even lost respect for daniels, part of the plot of the last season is him trying ot hide his shady past, then he acts all high and mighty when amculuty and freamon literally did what they did to stop marlo, it just got kinda cringe for me after kima did that, even fuckin clay davis got the pass lmao
Sonja’s got weird lookin nips
>>219955551Some anon wrote in a thread a few weeks ago that the journalism parts wouldn’t suck if they had been fleshed out so you actually care, like give the fake serial killer plot fully to the shitty journalist guy and not McNulty, have him and Freeman become accomplices at best - and I tend to agree.Landsman not letting them open the houses in the previous season was almost just as bad as what they did anyways imo.
>>219955776>Landsman not letting them open the houses in the previous season was almost just as badexactly, thats not even a bad example, theres so much rampant corruption that narrowing it down to mcnulty and freamon feels so frail a plot point, its like they all hahd amnesia or something, like im actually baffled they let kima get off with what she did, doesnt even talk it out wiht mcnulty or nothin, just goes straight for the throat, i mean she is kinda of a piece of shit in her own way, not gunna list her domestic stuff, but even i thought that was pretty wild for her to do that, not even talk to jimmy, just try to ruin his enitre life just like that is crazy, the carver shit with cooliochio she asks about was a slap on the wrist, she basically tried to equate that with throwing a guy in jail for a long itme who you pretend is one of your best work buddies it just so cringe, ruined the entire vibe at the end, at least have mculty mad about it, just have smile like a dummy at the end, "hey kim do you girl", like wtf dude? lol they could have actually been brave and end it with the entire bdp destroyed by scandal and have the message be like courrption is everywhere sort of thing, but anyway, over now, mcnulty is jessus and freamon st john, bunk peter, kima judas
>>219955068Oh. didnt like that scene. basically didnt like much of the cop side of season 5 ( Especially Mcnulty. Honestly probably 3 rewatches. Only a few shows I do that with that have the replay value
>>219956357>didnt like that scenehow come lol
>>219956416The bunk part is funny yeah. Just hated the whole serial killer stuff. But yeah bunks face was good
>>219954424Season 5 gets better with rewatches. CIA becomes more comedic somehow
>>219953785The ending is the one exceptional part of season 5. It's literally perfect.
>>219956523it's mcnultys face that you should see, go back to the scene you won't regret it
At least in season 5 we got the Reginald arc
>>219956917>perfecthow lmao it's literally schizophrenic if you ask me, the entire history/dynamic/credibility dies with kimas actions, even if they got another character to snitch, it STILL wouldnt workbecuase it's beyond hypocritical to dump it all on mcnutty
>>219956917I find it difficult to believe someone at the homeless shelter wouldn’t see the news about the Baltimore serial killer who kidnapped a homeless guy, see the picture of the homeless guy, remember the homeless guy that said he was from Baltimore that just arrived with a rando, and connected the two. It was national news,
>>219953785Jimmy knew what he was doing was wrong and unhinged and could destroy lives. He was just too far to care.
>>219959095>destroy liveswhos life would he destroy? he was literally letting other detectives work his case while he did his own thing, he regret it sure, why wouldnt he, everyone caused a stink, but he caused no problems whatsoever, the bpd is already defective incompetent and corruption a granular level, all he did was finesse the municipality, regardless, kimas betrayal literally makes no sense, she hates the bpd too
>>219959664>whos life would he destroy? If he got caught early his own, Lester's, Sydnor's, and Beadie's.
>>219957206I think you overestimate how much notice people take of the homeless, even in such a situation.
>>219961995Still, it’s pretty risky for Jimmy
>>219962020Everything he was doing was pretty risky but what's that lady gonna say even in the event she does recognise the homeless man she saw, who was perfectly safe, as the one who was kidnapped in another city two and a half hours away a day later what is she going to do? She'd have a vague description of McNulty at best. If she made a report the Virginia cops would just relay the information to McNulty and he'd just sit on it.
>>219961972they all willingly joined him except beadie, he obviously would not get them involved if they dont want to be involved, theyre safe no matter what, if beadie wants to out him she will, regardless she can claim she doesnt know, and mcnulty would agree, but the whole point is that the hypocrites like kima and the entire bpd/mayoral office are pulling this type of shit regularly, he literally saved carcetti and and the bpd with national recognition, but he all of sudden they think it makes sense to treat him like hes some malicious leper, it just rings phony, anyway i can accept the bpd and the municipality being hypocrites, but they way they just swept kimas betrayal under the rug is crazy, doesnt even talk to jimmy, just straight up tries to destroy him is insane, weirdest character decision ever, its funny because they tried to make mcnulty look like the domestic fuck up with his family, being a serial cheater and all, but at least he was always there for his kids, kima became a cheater AND abandoned her son, and only changed her mind about parenting when she saw some little boys family get shot up, just kinda cringe ending on her part
>>219957206dude homeless people are for the most part completely out of the loop, most of them are by and large mentally ill, its more than likely no one would ever notice
>>219962231>he whole point is that the hypocrites like kima and the entire bpd/mayoral office are pulling this type of shit regularlyYes, a recurring theme in the show is those most entrenched in or exploitive of the corrupt systems are the ones that come out unscathed. Those with noble intentions are often getting fucked over and the cycle continues.
>>219962231Kima is good po’lease
