What would a modern day remake of Marty (1955) look like?

34 year old incel gets together with a 7.5/10 virgin(male) because he's... *checks notes* kind and sensitive

I didn’t get Marty. The loneliest wop in brooklyn finally finds a girlfriend and everybody in his life acts like she’s not good enough for him even though he’s an ugly 49 year old virgin who lives with his mom

Implying that guy on the right would be rejected. He might lose out to the gigachad on the left but he's still beating 99.9% of men

I watched it because of the infamous tomatoes scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktXm7CRXbsE
but was extremely disappointed to find out it was more bluepilled slop in the end. I guess you can't expect too much out of an 80 year old movie.

She's gotta be out there. I just know it.

It was cathartic and beautiful in a way that I don't attribute to "bluepill". I don't want endless gender war golem shit to infect every aspect of art or poetics. With some things I leave that at the door.

Yes, you should be informed about the modern world and the real state of play that we as men have to navigate, but this is like reading Ovid and say "wtf this is bluepill af lmao fuck this". It dulls your faculties and makes you dumber.

im literally a 34 year old incel virgin living with my parents. i should watch this movie. although it says he has siblings who ar all married, but im an only child.

Ovid isn't some mythical perfection, he could easily be deluded about the nature of women.(I have not read Ovid so I'm not commenting on that).

Insofar as rp stuff is even accurate then great art is going to sometimes represent it. Of course great art can also be unrealistic or idealized.

It's not about Ovid, that was a random placeholder reference, it's about being able to apprehend art on its own terms.

If you're not able to mentally compartmentalize some of the more ridiculous aspects of modernity when you need to, you'll get your brain swiss cheese'd by the 24/7 outrage media of the panopticon, and you'll never be able to approach the transcendent in art.

Maybe this is a personal gripe of mine, but I don't think it's helpful to ever have the words "redpilled" or "bluepilled" on your mind when engaging with art seriously as an adult male, it keep you mentally immature. I'm not necessarily accusing you of being immature specifically, but this is what I think about the matter in general. Gender war obsession makes people retarded over time. Both men and women. It brainfries normies and failed normies.

I see what you're saying if you're thinking of like Andrew Tate or something. But the way women are depicted in like a Tolstoy novel, for example, would basically be classified as "redpill" in today's terms. Feminists would just say it's sexist I suppose. I mean fundamentally its about how women and men relate to each other. These topics can hardly be avoided.

I think where the brainrot enters is if you reduce the human experience to just these aspects of it. There is always more going on than the crude reductions of many redpill types.
