>>219973710It’s good for the first two years or so, but it felt like starting with the third season, it just became a cavalcade of z-list “celebrity” guests that Joe Bob would spend the duration of the episode trying to awkwardly banter with, rather than talking about the fucking movie itself. It hurt my soul to watch him stroke Eli Roth’s ego like he’s some genius superstar filmmaker. Then, there’s the bogged elephant in the room named Darcy. I don’t know if it was her insistence to have a larger role, or some directive from Shudder to give the show more “female energy”, but her essentially becoming Joe Bob’s co-host is what killed the show. She’s disturbing to look at, has that annoying vocal fry affect that she would put on like she thought she was fucking Marilyn Monroe or some shit, couldn’t hang in a conversation to save her life, and never had any idea what Joe Bob was talking about. She also had this move where any time a camera was on her or she said anything, she would take a swig of beer. Either she’s an alcoholic, it was a nervous tick that she did because she didn’t know what else to do, or she was trying to make that her trademark “thing”. People tuned in for Joe Bob talking about movies because they liked Monstervision, not “celebrities” or a blown-out slag or cringe skits.

>>219989877checked nigga. I liked the bumble bee game you could play on Sky where it cost your parents like £5 an hour
>>219989604I miss my dad. He took me to star wars too. He was such a good dad.
I'm old and I said cable was a bad idea back when it came up. Now they are trying to get rid of it. It just shows that I'm always right.

>>219990145Then I'm kaput. I'll be checking out in 2032. But hey, I had an excellent run. Better than a lot of ppl.

Theflixertv got shut down. Came to the only niggas i know that discuss movies all day. Any anons have a reliable stream site for new releases ?
>>219990285Thanks. I don't think this is curable. I've already been dealing with it since 2003. It impacted my health so greatly that it probably cut 20+ years off my lifespan. I'm not worried tho. I have kids and grandkids and they're all white. I did my job so I'm pretty happy.

>>219968633Nick at Nite was peak television in the 90s. I used to watch it every single night when I was a kid. It's probably the reason why I relate more to boomers than any other generation today.>Happy Days>I Love Lucy>The Brady Bunch>Bewitched>I Dream of Jeannie>Gilligan's Island>Laverne and Shirley>The Beverly Hillbillies>The Dick Van Dyke Show>The Bob Newhart ShowThese are the shows I grew up with.

>>219992841just like ur dad lmao lol lol lol
>>219992841Watching FX all day was great. I miss flipping between FX, TNT, Spike and USA just watching random movies all day https://youtu.be/F4QAyyEwpbYhttps://youtu.be/bSqrAC9WyKk

the TNT version of Treasure Island with Christian Bale and Charlton Heston was certified KINO

I remember an in-school news program from back in the 90s called Channel 1 that had Lisa Ling on it. It played during our homeroom hour. I can't tell you much else because no one ever paid a bit of attention to it. Reading that Anderson Cooper was one of the anchors makes me extremely suspicious about the purpose of the whole thing though.
FX (FX) Has the Movies.
>>219981698I think I grew up with Phoebe

>>219993385she looks like somet u find at the flea market
One of my favorite TV shows when I was younger. The network cancelled the show. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8sNguEPTF9II also watched “Friday the 13th: The Series” on broadcast TV. Then the show was cancelled and Louise Robey disappeared from TV, except for some weird B-Movie I later saw
>>219976512Nostalgic
>>219992699Who says I haven’t? Ever heard of past tense? Back then she was an alcoholic whore who put her own convenience over my health and well being. That’s who she was. She still is that today to a certain extent. Her health is a total shitshow from all the choices she’s made along the way. I’m the sibling that cares for her the most. What you need to understand is that to truly process childhood trauma, you HAVE to feel the rage. If you don’t you become emotionally repressed like my brother. Your advice is only valuable after his stage. If I were still in the grieving stage, it’s codependent and harmful.
>>219993262I definitely remember that.
>>219976512https://weather.com/retro/
I remember using these.
>>219994733The swimming pool I went to as a kid had a rotary payphone until around the year 2000 or so when pay phones got phased out completely.
>>219990589>Nick at Nite was peak television in the 90s.Only if you were an old person by then so I know you're larping. Kids weren't in glee over some silent era bs

>>219995794Not that anon but you’re a miserable faggot with absolutely nothing to contribute to the thread but unfortunately post anyway and I also loved nick at nite when I was kid.
>>219989952>that chokerI thought this was supposed to be a family friendly show
>>219959811I remember when TVs had power buttons. I wish they still did. Digging for the remote in a hurry or during a sudden volume spike is annoying.
>>219995794Imbecile. All those shows were still on network daytime tv in the 90s. There isn't a kid that was my age I know who didn't watch Lucy or Beverly Hillbillies. The primetime contemporary shows were all basically just updated versions like Full House and Family Matters, it wasn't some irrelevant jump into "old time" tv to look at the other stuff or something, TV was all just one big place.
>>219996671I actually bought a tv a few years ago that had one. I couldn’t believe it. Seriously, check in the center right under the remote eye, you never know. I wouldn’t have known it was there if I hadn’t looked at the manual. Can’t remember now which one it was or if I still even have it because we’ve thrown away one recently. In bed and not getting up to go look. I always buy the cheaper Best Buy units of whatever brand. It’s crazy how much having the controls on the tv is nostalgic because I remember how absolutely bad ass it was when we got our first tv with a remote.
>>219975138Show was good but I didn't realize how fucking awful the animation was until I became an adult
>>219959811I used to watch the 80s Ninja Turtles cartoon back when it was airing for the first time.
>>219959811My first TV had a lamp that needed it's gas refilled in it
>>219963432There's still a commercial for one of these on the True Crime channel.
>>219959811There was no adult swim at one point, when cartoon network went off air theyd play Canadian animation in rhe odd hours of the night. Remember watching the first broadcast of adult swim too.
>>219996966Plus, a lot of the animation was really trippy and of the wall.
>>219996817I recall the fateful day I was watching The Box and they played Del Amitri "Roll to Me" four times in a row.
>>219996966That was just another show, it was called O Canada
>>219960054Kek
DUN DUN, DUN, DUN, DUN, ALL KIDS OUT OF THE POOL, TIME FOR ADULT SWIM
>>219960563No, Doctor. First you tell me who killed Raspail.
>>219996966That was just a show. Late night cartoon network would just air old cartoons from the 60s and 70s before Adult Swim. Honestly, I miss those days. Adult Swim was better when it was the weekend only
And a one, and a two and a three>splashing sounds Oh you got it! >distorted screen >ADULT SWIMJust, kino
>>219997141Yeah, I vaguely remember the old cartoons, but remembered the artsy fartsy stuff more.
>>219996671>>219996833yea some modern tvs still have basic button controls, power, volume etc. They are usually tiny and hidden pretty well on the side or back if they are there
>>219961781
>you will never watch "Home Movies" for the first time ever again
>>219997247On [as] or UPN?
>>219997263Adult swim, it was one of the first shows they aired.
>>219997247Personally never liked it. No idea what people see in it to this day. The show couldn't even beat syndicated reruns of the Simpsons when it aired on UPN
>>219997272Home Movies aired on UPN first. By the time it hit AS it had already been long canceled
>>219997282Even back then people shashat on the Simpsons, but Home movies isn't close it. I never liked the Simpsons and you can kiss my ass
How many of you have watched a movie this way on the old version of TBS?
>>219997307I had no idea, i was just a kid when I saw it on adult swim. I usually wasn't watching much TV at that age.
>>219997349Funny how style comes back around.
I went to school during the AIDS (formerly GRIDS) scare and we had an assembly to watch this bizarre play called The Wizard of AIDS. It was like a spoof of The Wizard of Oz, but all about STDs and safe sex. I remember the Tin Man had to get lubed up with KY instead of oil and the Wicked Witch got smothered to death with a giant condom. They also handed out rainbow colored condoms to everyone. You can imagine how well this went over with a bunch of middle and high school kids. The condoms were all turned into water balloons or put over doorknobs and shit by the end of the day. Looking back I'm amazed there wasn't some kind of public outcry over all this.
>>219997340Simpsons hate in the 90s was due to its popularity, it wasn't the zombie show it is now, there was still quality writing for it back then. These were also reruns, Home Movies couldn't even beat reruns
>>219997389You can take part in this conversation if you wanted to. This posts is embarrassing.
>>219997408Ive tried to like it dude, but I can't do it. Im not being a try hard either. Something about it just doesn't do it for me.
>>219959850>I remember when Michael Jackson was black and pretended to date prime Brooke Shields and Madonna but never did anything with them sexually because he loves boys
>>219997389Dude this is on youtube, it looks amazinghttps://youtu.be/sqwkqjH__mE?&t=421
>>219997375Did you really watch the movie if some hot Jewish chick named Annabelle Gurwich didn't present it to you? Watched Dumb and Dumber a couple of times in this format. Comfy as it always was.
>>219997389I was there. I got pantsed by a girl in the cafeteria.
I remember only getting to watch the g1 transformers on the Bozo show. They would chop the ever living shit out of to make an episode last all week. I didn't care, I just wanted to watch it.
>>219997515What the fuck are you trying to say dude?
>>219997389lmao. A weird thing that happened sometimes in the old days was we were moving towards a more sexually liberal society and some saw the trend and ended up comically overshooting it. Other examples are like Brooke Shields in movies like Pretty Baby, and that article linked here drooling on her in an openly creepy way when she was 12, Caligula and other "golden age of porn" movies when they thought it might become a mainstream industry with no stigma, there was even a company in denmark that focused on producing literal underage porn at one point. Probably best not to judge them too harshly for it now as they didn't know where the world was headed. Thank god we have the feds in the us and people like moistcritical to tell us what is acceptable and what isn't acceptable today.
>>219997709This is all factually true but untrue in spirit. Like Denmark didn't try out child porn or something, they just made it. It wasn't "let's see what we can get away with it", it was just a normal market until it was outlawed.
>>219997697Jesus christ. Did you remember Dinner and a Movie on TBS or not?
>>219997697Retarded zoomer
>>219984813To be fair, he'd sometimes do rants back when he was hosting Drive-in Theater and MonsterVision too. But on the other hand, he was younger and had a more sharper wit to him back then.
>>219959811but i'm 22
I'm old enough to remember when reruns of Married with Children, M*A*S*H, and King of the Hill practically dominated the FX weekday schedule.
>>219998810high school was half a decade ago, unc
>>219997709I remember for Body Double, Annette Haven was seriously considered for the role eventually played by Melanie Griffith. De Palma really wanted Annette but the studio wouldn't back her .. thought an actual porn star playing a fictional porn star was too edgy.
>>219997349Fuck yeah.
