Why did they just completely lie about him being a cowardly betrayer?
>>
He totally murdered Comyn thoughbeit.
Straight up gang banged him 3v1 in a Church.
>>
>>219960701
Because the film takes liberties everywhere, not just with Brucey.
>>
>>219960701
because robert the bruce was legitimately more interesting in rl than william wallace
>>
>>219960701
Because Braveheart is some retarded American screenwriter’s fan fiction and has nothing to do with real history.
That being said, Robert Bruce did submit to Edward before most of the other Scottish nobles, likely with an eye to his own advantage. So the notion of him being disloyal has the correct sentiment in a sense.

>retarded
Braveheart is the only reason people know that Britain exists.
>>
Bruce was a Norman, like the English aristos. Whereas Wallace was a humble mud hut man who sprouted from Scottish soil.

Anybody know if this is any good?

Wallace's sword is legendary, but did you know what its belt was made of? If you guessed the tanned flesh of tax-man Hugh de Cressingham, then you'd be right! William skinned him from head to heel and turned his hide into a leather sword belt.

Theu actually made a sequel to the film starring the same actor as The Bruce, featuring picrel as a farm girl he has to protect from invaders. A redemption story.

And guess what? It was kinda okay. Braveheart fans should look it up.

YOU HAVE BLED WITH WALLACE!

NOW BLEED WITH ME!

Yes, it’s very good. One of the better medieval period pieces I’ve seen.
>>
>>219961344
It was overshadowed by Outlaw King.

Guillaume le Waleys was in fact of Anglo-Welsh stock.

Did Outlaw King have these titties?

Outlaw King is 95% good, but for the finale they invent a scene that will infuriate historyfags and also annoy casual viewers. If you've seen the film, you know the bit I'm talking about. Concerning Edward II.
>>
>>219960701
Yeah, that was bullshit. I'm a direct descendent of his, so I found it especially annoying.
>>
>>219960701
Braveheart is historical fiction. It establishes that in the opening seconds when Robert the Bruce says that historians from England will call him a liar. The Battle of Stirling Bridge doesn't even have a bridge for fuck's sake.
Kino though. Just don't accept it as truth but you should be doing that with any Hollywood movie.

I'm related to the Hershey Family. No free chocolate. Ever.

Meanwhile my friend growing up was a relative of Charles Manson and is rich AF. I don't get it.

>Just don't accept it as truth but you should be doing that with any Hollywood movie.

That's true, but the nitpicking results from the paucity of big-budget films about Scottish history. I know Rob Roy came out the same year, but that was a forgettable non-event, and it didn't even touch Rob Roy's role in the Jacobite uprisings, the very thing he is remembered for. Braveheart was the one and only time Scottish history had its day at the top of the Hollywood box office, and that's why people tend to get pissy about the inaccuracies.

Will watch tonight!

Wish there were more movies about these medieval figures like Richard the Lionheart, William the Conquerer, Edward I, Edward III, etc.

What about this?
>>
>>219960701
that actor always plays a coward kek, he was the worst in Saw 3
>>
>>219961850
>Richard the Lionheart
Is he the King during the Robin Hood era? They should make a film about that. No blacks though. Let's keep it truthful to the Era.
>>
>>219962076
Ridley's Scott's Robin Hood is about that very thing. It's not great tho
>>
>>219962133
I was thinking more about
>Robyn Hood
the all black female remake about taking down rich white men
(yes, it's real)
