what makes it so much worse than Breaking Bad?

>>220003845Bad pacing mostly. The Cartel subplot also doesn't really go anywhere despite the amount of time spent on it.
>>220003845Tried too hard to be awardbait during its last season, backfired hard to the point where no one cares about it anymore
>>220003845The ridiculous padding. The unnecessary plot lines like the entire thing with the Germans. Also, loads of filler scenes with Mike. The show works pretty well until the end of the Chuck arc, then it falls apart.
>>220003845it was great from start to finish
>>220003845Breaking Bad was already dogshit with one man army Mike, the mexican Terminator duo and genius level intellect Gus, not to mention Walter who's somehow able to get rid of everyone despite being a coward with cancerI'm baffled I used to think these shows were good
>20 minute sections of mike taking apart a clock with no dialogue>clunky tie ins with breaking bad >pointless gus sideplots >le black and white future scenes the stuff with chuck and howard was based it should've been pure lawyering/origin
>>220003845The moralfagging
I feel like the show was limited a lot by the fact that it was written as a prequel
>>220003845character of jimmy is inconsistent with saul the arch doesn't work he was a sleazy whacky lawyer that bit off more than he can chew with walt his relationship with mike in breaking bad makes no sense once you've seen this
>>220003845Chuck died and it kinda plateu until Lalo then he died and no one cared anymore
>>220003845basically nothing happens in season 1, then they try to hook the audience with forced fanservice in season 2, then finally something happens in season 3 and then the show is exciting while Lalo is relevant until he dies and they timeskip over all of breaking bad in one episode. they spent 90% of the show going at a snails pace then rushed the finish.
>>220003993Personally I liked the Sneed arc
>>220003845I loved kim and jimmy hanging out after work drinking wine and watching kinotier movies
>>220004049>I'm baffled I used to think these shows were goodThe fact you thought it while watching means they were good. Otherwise you wouldn't have thought that. Now with a distance you developed gay and retarded thoughts and reevaluate the fact you enjoyed watching them.
>>220003845The Mexican cartel stuff was always the weakest part of BCS. I felt Mike got flanderized too
>>220003845I enjoyed it more overall than Breaking Bad. But its ending is significantly worse than Breaking Bad
>>220003845Because liberal writers hate it when the audience think "bad" characters are cool, so they took the concept of a quick witted lawyer who has fingers in the pies of every shady deal in town and made him a pathetic idiot that's always losing, to teach you that you're not allowed to like him. They Joker 2'd him.
>>220004925> outwits his Ivy League brother> has a footie qt3.14 Girlboss gf that worships him> constantly making stuck up Richie’s look foolish are pissed off> survives numerous brushes with death > high charisma makes him endearing to those around him, even his enemies. Idk man, I feel like they made Saul cooler in this show than the guy constantly bowing his head to the chemistry teacher in BrBa
>>220004022Donna Ladio had a lil zest to his step
>>220004982His wins are at the level of pranks, while his losses are being not a good lawyer and losing cases and getting caught and going to jail. Imo it recontextualised all of Breaking Bad as him just getting lucky once.
>>220004022Nope
If I was watching it as it released it would have been frustrating. But binging a few seasons to catch up to the release schedule was much better
Vince focused way too much on making it a prequel series instead of its own thing from Chuck’s death onward. It’s fine to have Saul & Mike getting into zany lawyer / PI adventures without reminding us about BrBa every 10 minutes. Like you could have occasional headbutts with the cartel without making it 50% of the damn show and calling back every single character. When BCS is good it’s great unfortunately those moments become fewer and farther between as the show progresses then you get the abortion clinic dumpster fire that was the finale.
>>220004022This>>220003993Fucking retard. The entire point of the show is giving the backstory to breaking bad. And the Germans are a part of that. Go watch ishowspeed or something
>>220003845>>220004165>>220005234As these anons say, Saul's character is a parody of his breaking bad self, when I heard about bcs, I thought it was gonna be saul winning cases in a witty manner. There's also the fact, he was retcon into being evil from the beginning in that scene with walt when he was the one to tell walt to stay and help his family
>>220003845Its poorly paced with lots of scenes dragged out for no reason. Not to mention its filling in a lot unnecessary backstory(seriously who gives a shit how Gus got an underground lab?) It was nice seeing Jimmy become Saul and the stuff with Chuck was good too but almost everything else felt superfluous.
>>220003845Absolute kino. Smashes all over Breaking Bad and its endless soap opera family bullshit.
One of the biggest problems with Breaking Bad is how underdeveloped the nazi biker gang feel, so surely Vince will devote some of the time in this prequel series towards fleshing them out so they no longer feel like they were tossed in at the last minute right?
>>220004022Imagine if Lalo killed Gus instead of the other way around, thus creating a paradox
>>220007560Nope 500 hours of cartelshit
>>220003845Simp energy was off scale.
It'd have been a much better show if it were completely separate from Breaking Bad. S1-3 were great and much better than BB.
>>220008108How did Gus even manage to kill Lalo, anyway? Lalo had precognitive psychic powers and superhuman agility. Even in the dark, he should've been able to Matrix dodge all of the shots Gus fired at him.
>>220003845>"tune in to find out how Jimmy transforms into Saul!">his evolution into Saul happens entirely offscreen and after a timeskip
I stopped watching when Chuck died.
>>220008393Wish I did to be honest. The whole point was that Chuck was the one thing holding Jimmy back from going full asshole sleaze lawyer.
>>220008468Yes, but what about the germans digging the hole for the superlab and the cartel guy trying to figure out what Gus was up to at the time?
>>220003845prequels SUCKespecially 5 seasons of prequels that take nearly 8 years to make
Breaking Bad is a kids cartoon compared to BCS. Everything about BCS is better, the characters are beautiful.
parallel universe theory still mogs
>>220008567Wtf I love kids cartoons now
>>220003845last season was mindless slop >I AM REDEMPTION KNOWING SAUL HE WOULD HAVE TAKEN 7 AND FUCK THE RIGHT OFF TO RUN SPLITS ON MORE MILFY BOUNCY KIM
>>220008838>BOUNCY KIMI wonder who's behind this post
Better Call Saul suffers from the same problems Breaking Bad started having after running for too long. Vince got high off his own farts. Minor characters became super heroes. Walt turned into some mastermind completely unearned, all the guy did was apply chemistry in an industry with no real chemists. Hank went from some fat bald idiot fake tough guy cop to a supercop badass. Every character got this treatment. So when Vince does a prequel these characters are superheroes. Saul fucking sucked in Breaking Bad but Vince loves the actor so much that he is now a genius lawyer comedian. Mike is a supersoldier. The entire show is made boring by the fact that it's a prequel. Nothing that happens matters. Every character Saul interacts with is a character that didn't exist and got reconned into the story, or a returning face for fan service, the same actor returning but acting nothing like he did in Breaking Bad.I tried to watch Better Call Saul but couldn't do it. It's all so meaningless, pure padding and non-stop fan service. It fucking starts with Tuco being a major character.I can't take any of this seriously with Mike there. Mike the terminator supersoldier working with Saul? How fucking stupid is that. When Mike was first introduced he was just some guy who does cleanup. I can't take the new Mike seriously.
>>220003845Breaking Bad loved itself and Better Call Saul hated itselfWalt was the hero of his own story even though he was a mass murdering drug lordSaul was the villain of his own story because he was a lawyer to the above guy
>>220008969Nigga shut up and enjoy the show, holy shit
>wtf Raskolnikov got away with it but turns himself in for a fucking prostitute what a fucking simp
