A properly made Garbage Pail Kids movie could be kino. They made one in the '80s but it's considered by many one of the worst films ever. What would you do to finally do justice to this IP and start a GPK reinassance?
>>220007742GPK had gotten pretty lame but I'm impressed with this.
>>220007742>What would you do to finally do justice to this IP and start a GPK reinassance? They should be stop-motion claymation, not puppets or midgets in costumes.
if you think that movie is bad you have no taste
I watched the gpk movie over and over as a kid. I begged my parents to rent it every fucking weekend for years
>>220007964Based fellow GPKTM enjoyerThoughts on the cartoon series?
>>220007828it looks at least cheesy fun, but I have actually never watched it.also because of its notoriety as a bad movie, but mostly because I never got the chance.
>>220007742Will it have Sarah Squirm in it?
>>220008005>but mostly because I never got the chance. You're on the internet, which is the same place where the movie is.
>>220007981I remember it being slightly better than the ALF cartoonsI really cant remember much about it besides it was just "one of those 80s cartoons". They all sort of had the same sarcastic writing, except I think the GPK cartoon tried to show off how "bad" it was. Like I think there were adults in the show who'd constantly condemn the gpk for being gross or something because the common notion was "these trading cards are popular with kids only because parents and teachers hate them"
I have up on GPK when these niggers at Topps botched the 40th anniversary set. >Almost no cards printed>Online Topps.com only>Immediately swiped by resellers>1 $30 box going for $80 as the base priceSeriously, fuck Topps. With that said I have yet to watch the movie cus I've been waiting for the Blu-ray (which was out of print for like a decade or more). Now they have it in 4k, which is great, but I'm not paying $30-$50 for it so I'm waiting for it to go down.I still have older cards, some of the little mini figures, the monopoly board game, all the comics, all the books by RL Stein, and the cartoon series on DVD. Pic related is me.

What are normies?
>>220008230I miss riding my bike to the store and buying a few packs to see what I'd get.Yes, I'm old.
>>220007742I can smell the strip of bubble gum you got in the card pack just looking at the pic. The '80s were fuckin' great.
i didnt know they still made them but im not surprised garbage pail kids were a great idea and something you can make indefinitely
>>220007798How it should've always been. Hollywood just didn't want to give money to animators for their crazier concepts.
>>220008277I'm not wasting my bandwidth/drive space on a remux and I'm not going to subject myself to a yify rip. I can wait for a quality copy.
>>220010299I'm a little younger than you so I wasn't there for that kino era. I kinda got back in right after the 35th anniversary which might have been the worse time to get in GPK. Also there's no where to discuss GPK on here so I've sadly checked Reddit before to see what they talk about and every thread is "I bought 20 boxes, now I'm gonna open them and store them" or "I found these cards at an estate sale/attic, what are they worth and how can I sell them?". Pathetic. I just got some of these fancy cases for some of my fancy cards like this autograph one. With that said I do remember going with my friends to those tiny stores that sold trading cards. It was so much better when people didn't hold so much money value on them. Just ripping open a pack and trading your doubles was fun. Even peeling them and sticking them on a binder or window, not giving a single shit about the future value.
>>220010981I have this book and I keep Bazooka Bubble gum comic strips inside of it to give it that bubble gum smell while I look through the book. Yes I'm autistic.
>>220011819Same. I miss the bubblegum baseball cards. Got so many rookie cards worth alot. Didn't care or know at the time. Only thing I regret, we had so much original Star Wars toys. Me and my brother would just play in the yard with them and trash em.They'd be worth a shit ton today.Oh well. Such is the life of a kid.Toys are made to be played with.
>>220008230GPK monopoly sounds cool
>>220011884
>>220007798Maybe AI can do it, Saar.
