Why did the personality of Jean-Luc Picard change so much?
>>
>>220024487
What change are you referring to?
>>
The show was brand new and they were still building characters. Remember Spock from the very first TOS episodes? He looked like a Klingon with a stick up his ass.
>>
daily hour long rimjobs from the most delicate catamite masseurs delivered to his trailer as contract got more and more expensive got him off his game a little
>>
>>220024487
He loosened up with people he became more friendly and familiar with over the years. Like the other anon said as well, they were still working out who tje characters were in the first season.
>>
>>220024487
Picard was a diplomat, a good one admittedly, but making such a people-pleasing simp faggot the captain of a federation starship seems unwise. I feel like he would gladly sell Earth to the Klingons and also watch Beverly Crusher get gangbanged by klingons.
>>
>>220024487
Because the US Navy started financing the show after killing Roddenberry and they didn't want to make being a service member seem like a weird shitty job where you work for a loner creep obsessed with his dead best friend's kid.
>>
>>220024822
He knew when to fight and when not to fight. That's good for a captain and diplomat.
>>
>>220024846
But in real life the people pulling the strings fuck and eat kids.
>>
>>220024487
1. living decades longer than most people do with a radically different mindset (inner light)
2. literally being proven wrong about many of his lifelong core personal assumptions by a godlike entity (tapestry)
>>
>>220025140
Thanks for confirming my theory about the Navy, triggered brainwashed idiot.
>>
>>220024487
It only changed in the movies because of the incompetent writers.
>>
>>220024822
>people-pleasing simp faggot
You have never watched a single episode of this show. Keep your trap shut.
>>
>>220024487
his personality depended on which detached preachy liberal was writing his dialogue of the episode
>>
>>220024487
You mean in the movies? Or in the tv show? There was a gradual change in the show, but it was mostly Patrick Stewart begging for love interests. I think that other anon is right, in universe we can attribute that episode where he lived a full life and learned the flute or some shit as a major catalyst for him loosening up, eventually joining the card games. Then in the movies, well it all went to shit. Attribute it to Stewart wanting to be an action hero or ride his dune buggies. I think they wanted to explore his Borg trauma more, like very obvious nods to PTSD, all very surface level boring commentary.
>>
>>220025186
>triggered brainwashed idiot
What did he mean by this?
>>
>>220025208
I didnt care for the movies at all
>>
People change and evolve, anon. That's a good thing irl and also a good character development. The show ended with Q telling him he needed to risk to open up to his friends.
>>
>>220025325
>Borg mind rape PTSD
>living a full life in another culture
>dealing with Q's bullshit
Picard has been through some shit. Not to mention all the general growing and changing a human does as they advance through their career and life. Just managing the Enterprise crew and dealing with all the random shit that happens is enough by itself, and then you add the huge shit that happened specifically to him too.
>>
>>220025732
Defaulting to stock dialogue options is a bad look, better to just not respond.
>>
>>220025761
Nemesis is kino
>>
>>220025732
>i hope the mexicans think im cool
>>
>>220027727
Definitely the best of the TNG films.
>>
>>220025918
Meh. Janeway was genociding literal millions of "innocent" (they didn't become Borgs willingly) Borgs as a regular Tuesday morning. The Mirror Universe Janeway would probably be a hippy peacenik.
>>
>>220025208
This is what Mike Stoklasa the director of Space Cop actually believes.
>>
>>220024822
>Implying
Sisko was the one that sold the Maquis out to the Cardies, only for the whose gesture to be rendered meaningless in the Dominion War. At worse, Picard will half-ass a mission if the contacts involved especially annoy him like the outcome of those two drug trade planets.
>>
>>220028520
No, it's what anyone who watches any of the TNG movies can see. This clearly does not apply to you.
>>
>>220024822
sounds like you never actually watched the show

>hurr you never watched the show even though you obviously did
shut the fuck up faggot
>>
>>220028588
Sisko was at least decisive. He didn't spend 30 minutes wringing his hands over an issue, while letting things escalate and get worse, the way Picard did
>>
>>220025228
>I'm going to accuse you of never watching the show even though I know that you've watched the show but I'm butthurt
what is this phenomenon?
