Can someone honestly tell me what being a NEET is like?

I'm graduating from medical school in a few months but have also been trading throughout, take home about 5x what a consultant doctor earns in the UK already and just can't be bothered practicing when the pay is so shit by comparison. I want to pack the trading in too since it's so hard/stressful/risky and after that I will be a NEET.

I am not super driven anymore and honestly just playing video games, watching kinos, going to the gym, going to restaurants/holidays etc constantly sounds fairly peak. It was my birthday recently, spent it with GF, went to nice restaurant then fucked on the beach shit was so peak it just made me think this is what I want to do not deal with consultant spergouts in the hospital.

I'm taking a year out to travel world next year, hopefully will get a bit of a better idea with what I want to do with life. Looking back there were definitely signs but you obviously don't realise this is how your life will turn out as a child and I'm really struggling to adapt.

It fucking sucks and I feel like a total failure. I’ve exhausted every lifeline I thought I had for a job except 1 and I have no clue how much longer it’s going to take before I can actually start working again
I don’t like video games anymore, fapping feels more like a chore, and I barely see my friends. The only productive thing I do is going to the gym

By the way you type, “shits so peak,” and the image you posted, I doubt you have the intelligence to understand life from another persons perspective, and were asking to “dunk” on people you see as “losers.”

So long as you have some form of skill you’re working on, being a neet is fine, although that could be considered education, so a more fitting description is unemployed. Most neets suffer from a total lack of ambition and just masturbate/play video games but with unlimited free time you can learn and do alot.

Went from being mostly a NEET for 10 years (besides working two comfy jobs that were handed to me for a couple of months each) to working a very physically demanding, constant movement entry-level job and I have zero idea where to go from here. Been NEET for nearly two years (not voluntarily) and it's a bit shit.
Depends on your personality I imagine, but for me NEETing is misery and really makes you consider why you even exist, or why society exists. Thing is, this is fine when you're an angsty teen striking out against the world, but when you get to your thirties and you're still a neet, you're just shaking your fist into the void, and will accomplish nothing.
The romanticism is gone, your youth is gone. You're a failure, and you better come to terms with that.
So yeah, it's a bit shit. I don't recommend you do what you're planning to do, unless you're a creative who is not on the nihilistic side of things. If you have passion for life, with all its flaws, you may be able to find beauty in your suffering no matter what age you are, but if that's not your temperament you will suffer needlessly.
But then again, if you have fuck you money then do what you want. You might regret your choice, you might not. Life doesn't care, no one will care, the universe doesn't care. There's only the endless void that awaits us all at the end, even if humanity sees the end of time, there is no 'good end'.
Don't do drugs.

It's very comfortable, fulfilling even at times since it allows you to live more freely and creatively than wageslaves - but there's always a subtle dread at the back of your mind, a sense that your life, in some fundamental way, is wrong (and it is).
>>
>>220035827
it's very difficult, almost impossible, to learn how to be truly productive while being a NEET. Most NEETs don't live creatively or productively, e.g. spending 8 hours a day on video games. Props to those who manage though but it's a fantasy for the most part.
Now that I've had a career though and have learned how to be very productive in the time I have, it would be great to have that NEET time again, assuming decent finances. Just part of how life goes.

I was forced into NEETdom a long time ago due to health. I so badly wish I could get a job and make actual money besides the pittance I receive every month, but I have very little experience and a useless 2 year degree. I tried to find a woman, turns out it is very hard in your 30s without some sort of in-person hobby. Dating apps are beyond useless and just demoralize you more than when you started. Friends are all gone. Or dead. Most games aren't fun any more. Sometimes you'll find a hidden gem that you didn't realize was good and have a blast playing that, but that feeling is fleeting.

>>220028699
What do you mean by trading? I tried to get into futures trading but it took a lot of time for me to realize I don't have the resources to invest into that besides prop firms. Worst advice in this thread

>>220037098
It's at least a basis to start from, divorces can get pretty ugly and expensive, and emotionally scarring if kids are involved. knowing what each side agreed to pre marriage in case of a divorce will make everything easier at that point, for all sides involved.
You now get along with your wife, but life happens, and sometimes breakup is the best option.
It's not very romantic I know, but if 1 serious conversation with someone you hope to spend the rest of your life with can ruin your relationship, would you actually want to live in that relationship?
>>
>>220037621
my advice is really good actually, it just means to take marriage very seriously. if there’s even a chance you think your marriage will fail you shouldn’t do it. can divorce still happen? sure. but your entire attitude top to bottom must be faith that it will work out lifelong
>>
>>220037342
You better start saving up for a divorce lawyer bro. Trust me, you're gonna need it
>>
>>220037931
50% of marriages end in divorce and something like 80% of marriages end in divorce for millenials. Having gone through that I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, it was the most hellish experience of my life
>>

>>220038082
>wait until he has devised a truly deep and intricate post

>>
>>220037931
That's pretty medieval.
Marriage isn't magic, people change, and coming to an agreement with your partner pre marriage will provide both you and them with the best breakup possible.
Living with someone you come to despise for the rest of your life just because you believe in the sanctity of marriage is not worth it, and doesn't work in practice.
Two people deciding at a specific moment in time to share their life together is a beautiful thing, but don't let it ruin your life 10 years from now.
Not getting married at all is a terrible life advice, everyone has doubts and fears, and staying alone because you have normal human emotions is grim.
>>
>>220031040
I still remember my last two interviews. Zero expectations, completely ready to be rejected, but somehow I managed to convince two managers to hire me. When it happens it's hard to believe, and I'm a complete loser. You can also do it.

>>220038576
marriage isn't magic, and a prenup isn't a magical protective spell either. It's just money. You can always make more later. It poisons the marriage if the woman knows you already are planning for failure. I would only say a prenup is appropriate if you're genuinely wealthy, and you can set enough aside for her in the prenup to be able to be rich too.
of course I'm also assuming marriages where you genuinely intend to have families.
the marriages that end in failure are the ones where people just got married as a "oh well this is the next step I guess" type of thinking

These episodes are weird, like why does Truman all his life almost instinctually instantly deny any kind of invite to any event by making up a lie on the spot pretending that he is busy with other things when he has nothing to do?
Even in that one episode when a pretty girl from college asked him out of the blue if Truman wants to go to a coffee shop with her he said he can't because he's busy and then went back to his dorm room and did literally nothing.

Good for you for finding your true love, a lot of people are not as fortunate.
Ever since divorce was invented by the English royalty the seed will always be there.
I'm not saying prenup is a fundamental part of a marriage, or that it solve all the bad parts of a divorce, but that it certainly won't make it worse.
It is what it is, a good advice if you want to get married.
