>If you could uh, just indluge me for another minute, then I'll be out of your hair.
>Ya see my wife, Mrs Columbo, she watches a lot of TV. Keeps the house clean, makes me good meals, and it's a little treat to herself. I don't have time to much TV myself, but I do like the old westerns.
>So the way she explains it to me, is they keep bringing back all these old shows right, Reboots they call 'em..., I don't really get it, maybe those fancy writers are just all out of original ideas. Lots of these uh, reboots, they do a thing where they swap the lead characters You know, they turn male characters into females. Movies too, these remakes right? The Equalizer, Ghostbusters, Ocean's 8, What Men Want, Matlock... and maybe I'm just seeing what I want, but all these endeavors seem to fail.
>Kind of makes me wonder, heh, sorry this is a little silly... but, you know what if some time in the future, there's a female version of me running around?

yeah they tried that with Columbo and they had to rebrand like six times to keep it afloat for just two seasons.

I had no idea this was a thing.
Truly they are creatively bankrupt.

just one more thing sir

it's just something that's been bothering me

I don't know if you watch movies?

I don't watch movies all that much but my wife, she loves 'em

and she says there's this thing they do now where they take some old movie with men in it and then they remake it with women instead of men

she says they're doing it with everything!

so anyway, it got me thinking . . .

all those old movies with women in them . . . you know, like . . . Steel Magnolias . . . Whatever Happened To Baby Jane? . . . what is it, Fried Green Tomatoes At The Whistle Stop Café . . .

I was wondering . . . why does no-one ever suggest redoing all THOSE old movies, with MEN in the main roles?

well, I asked my wife this, and do you know what she said?

she said, no-one wants to see that

now between you and me I think she's right

but here's the thing that's really bothering me . . .

no-one wants to see all those OTHER remakes either

you know . . . where they remake old movies with women instead of men

so . . . well . . . what's going on there? i just can't figure it out

i don't know, it's probably nothing

i'll let you go now

There are RARE occasions where this is kino, like when they rebooted Battlestar Galactica and turned Starbuck into a smoking hot pawg
>>
Why does your wife insist birthday cakes are fire hazards?

The difference back then is they weren't pretending that's what made the show good.
