Most of what they've made is at least good, and often great. I mean , making a "generational cinematic shared evet" event (the Y2K era equivalent for millennials as seeing Star Wars in the theater was for previous generations. The Matrix series and LOTR were pretty much the only real candidates ) . with The Matrix series would have been enough, but even stuff like getting Speed Racer live action to be the crazy world of the cartoon show , properly campy, and feel good about the whole thing while taking the source material seriously... is noteworthy. Same thing with adapting Cloud Atlas to the screen which they did very, very well and even had the absolute balls to do the "all the characters played by the same actors, even when it means racial shifts" bit which came off really fucking well. Also I have to give them credit for the work they did with The Matrix Online back in the day, it really had a fuckload of lore and its a pity it never got its fair shake. Overall they've done well and even their later work is not nearly as damaged or troonish-referential than most tend to be . The Matrix Ressurections had both a giant fuck you to studio meddling, updates for all the time since with the NPH Therapist as the new bad guy who basically is a takedown of algorthimic social media, therapy language and ragebait, and the central theme still remained the love between Neo and Trinity.
