So for the longest time I found it implausible that the explosion in Predator could've been nuclear, because Arnold couldn't have escaped it. But I recently learned that there's really almost no limit to how small you can make it. You can literally make the blast radius be as small as 20 meters and you'd still get a the initial flash and temperatures hotter than sun at the center.

Before now, did you think only one atom was involved in the Hiroshima bomb?

I thought it was two atoms, Hiroshima and Nagasaki

I used to hate nukes because I thought they'd poison a large area for like 100.000 years, but then I learned that you can just scrape off the poison afterwards and you'll be fine.
Then I liked nukes, and wished a nuclear war would happen so that all the capitals in the world would get fucked and all the politicians, journalists, and academics would die, but then I looked at the plans that the USSR etc had for nuclear war and it turns out that no one was going to nuke capitals, they were all gonna nuke the kind of cities I inhabit instead, so now I hate nukes again.

Politicians are going to be fine, don't worry.

I live close to a big nuclear base so if it ever pops off it's all ogre for me before I have time to hear about it being declared
