Mine was Mad Men. Spent 5 years rotting as a neet, watched it, somehow got motivated, cleaned up, and landed a decent job.
it made me pick up smoking and drinking regularly and now I have an irregular heartbeat
This is going to sound cringe AF but as an young atheist I modeled my morality and ethics off of Star Trek TNG.
>>220045472kek I did that with True Detective S1 Rust was nihilistic alright damn my teen years were "deep"
>>220045400I was smoking and drinking even before so It just made me feel cool about myself that's all.Although at around S2 I remember for a week I was day drinking every day some heavy liquor.
>>220045319television is not that deep bro.
>>220045472My entire adult life has been me pretending that I am in star trek while in professional environments, it helped me excel.
>>220045472Growing up is realizing she was a hero for destroying the crystalline entity.
>>220045472Everyone models their morals off of simply being a decent human being and knowing the difference between right and wrong. Or just being white
>>220045319bullcrap
>>220045952Kys bro
>>220045992If you think about it most corporations are meritocratic and hierarchical and are basically Starships. Probably how Star Trek was dreamed up in the first place by bored white collar nerds.Captain = CEOSecond Officer = Senior Vice President Chief Engineer = Director of EngineeringCadets = Internsetc
Patriot on Amazon. There's a bit in the second season where he's talking to some kid and says he only has to go halfway and one step because at that point it's quicker just to finish something than turn around and quit. I was coming off a 8 year relationship that I was miserable in. Got fat as fuck. I don't know why but that clicked with me and I started working out and riding a bike. At first it was 2.5 miles a day. Then 5. Then 10. Then 3 months later I'm fit and hot and bagged a girl 8 years younger than me. We got married a couple years ago and just had our first kid. It's hard at times but being a dad is awesome.
>>220045319larp, you cant just get a decent job, nobody is hiring.
Do shows on the science channel or discovery channel count? Those shows kind of solidified my interest in the STEM field during my teens (those shows with guest speakers like Michio Kaku/Neil deGrasse Tyson) and now I make a pretty good living because of it.
>>220045992I would like to know more about your philosophy.
>>220049707Nice story
>>220050168Thanks. No matter how fucked up you think things are, you can do it, you just gotta go half way and one step.
