It's really not. You should have adblock set up regardless. Augment it with a private dns like dns.adguard-dns.com and you'll never see ads.
Pick a site, search for a show, enjoy.
>>
>>220049571
it's pain because that's the 3rd world way to do it. many people use Nuvio now.
>>
>>220050809
So Nuvio is basically the same as Kodi/Jellyfin?
>>
>>220046729
>(laptops don't count)
what if I plug the HDMI cord into my laptop and TV?
torrent and MPC-HC gets it done for me
>>
>>220050895
>So Nuvio is basically the same as Kodi/Jellyfin?
No. It's an ad-free frontend to all those sites people use on their browser.
>>
>>220050914
Yeah I've done a little bit of reading now and it looks like an offshoot of Stremio. I wonder if it buffers as much as that one without having to do the whole jackett/sonarr build thing.
>>
>>220050976
>it looks like an offshoot of Stremio.
Sort of. Basically, the company behind Stremio wants to make money and avoid the whole piracy thing so they stopped doing what the community wanted so a bunch of user made a piracy-only, open source version called Nuvio and now people are starting to drop Stremio and use Nuvio. There's no buffering for me. I stream in 4K just fine.

Jellyfin. I have a 20tb hdd, about 18tb full + second backup 20Tb that I update every few months but leave in cold storage unplugged.

I stream remotely using tailscale and jellyfin. In network I have Jellyfin on all my tvs. I used to use Plex, but since they decided to charge for remote streaming I dropped it. Their app was slow as fuck too, Jellyfin is better.

I realized long ago that watching movies and TV shows as a hobby is for fucking losers. Watching them is to kill some time relaxing and to meme on them on shit places like /tv/.
>>
>>220063033
No no you have to make a job out of it and waste hours setting up a convoluted system and hoard hundreds of shit you won't ever watch and set it up again when something goes wrong for some reason like all the people in this thread

This is like the 4th time I've seen this brought up tonight. Is it better than Stremio? I just got the real-debrid x stremio set up a couple weeks ago and I spent a lot of time customizing it, I'm thinking about trying out Nuvio for shits, it can use all the same add-ons right?

>On September 30, 2025, Amazon announced the Fire TV Stick 4K Select. Unlike previous generations which ran the Android-based Fire OS, the Fire TV Stick 4K Select runs Vega OS, a proprietary, web-centric operating system based on Linux. It uses a MediaTek 1.7 GHz Quad-core CPU and has 1 GB of RAM.[51]
