In 2008, when retarded capeshit fans were celebrating Iron Man, this real kino dropped, and was largely ignored. It should have come out today in the post-capeshit, post-Tarantino era. Would be more appreciate.
>>220052580"largely ignored" is when 4 sequels
I don't care for Donnie Yen. He insists upon himself.
I saw this it's whatever.I'm sure it's special if you lived in hong kong learning kung fu for action movies but aside from that it's the same as any other kung fu movie
still waiting for IPv6 Man
>>220052580IPee man
>>220052580Everyone watched this movie when it came out retard
>>220052580Best martial arts movie ever released. Unfortunately the sequels are borderline capeshit
This movie is even funnier when you realize what a pathetic chinese cope it is. The reality is they got their asses completely kicked by Japan during WW2 AND many of them willingly collaborated to be part of the Japanese Empire.
>I WANT TO FIGHT TEN PEOPLE!
Hong Kong cinema is dead. Think about that the next time you say "based China."
>>220052654You should kys, you're very unlikable
>And then, for no particular reason, Japan surrendered and China won World War II.
>>220052713kek
>>220052580Even my redneck boomer dad loves Ip Man. He's truly based
>>220052713Jejd
>>220052580ip man 2 and 3 got a bit too anti-japan anti-west jingoistic for my tastes
Move over, it's time for real Indonesian kino
These are all just asian fragility movies. They are just Ip Man fighting evil westerners to the point where it's comical. One of the movies has the evil American Marines getting their american karate beaten.
>>220052580It sucks, donnie yen can’t into being a leading actor, and there are a hundred better kung fu movies. You have a lot of content to watch before coming back and posting your lame opinions on my kino board.
>>220053023such as...?
>>220052580Every martial arts movie has the same failing as detailed here: https://youtube.com/shorts/BkwaIjehgZcIn a real life or death struggle, the first person to get a trap/grab/hold has the advantage that often turns the tide. You can have seven black belts and a karate gold medal at the Olympics, but if I have an arm around your neck, you're about to take a nap whether you want to or not.
>>220052961>Ip Man fighting evil westerners to the point where it's comical. One of the movies has the evil American Marines getting their american karate beatenThat's the 3rd one I believe. And Han chinese people have literally gotten BTFO since the Qing dynasty so yeah they're a little salty. >>220053326>here's a niggerman comedian clip to prove my pointThing is, gay rolling doesn't sell, as shown as in the big name mma fights that involve lots of grappling. As well as in Donnie Yen's movie Flashpoint, I have never seen grappling done so well in a movie and no one watched it.
I thought this movie was about a ban-evader. I was very disappointed.
>>220053443Grappling isn't flashy. It isn't interesting. It doesn't have the swishy flare that stylized martial arts choreography has. Michael Jai White talks about this in his BTS interviews working with Jet Li.Jet Li is one of the single most decorated living martial artists in the world, but even he would tell you - it's more of a dance than a combat skill. Both parties need to know all the steps and all the moves for it to flow and 'look' good. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu doesn't translate to the big screen. Neither does Systema or Kali or even police procedural use of force techniques. It might look cool to see some spinning heel back kick, but more often than not, in the real world you're too slow and or you'll miss. If it lands, most guys can tank at least one good hit and you run the risk of getting grabbed. Pressure points and nerve destructions are far more lethal than something Yuen Woo Ping would choreograph.
>>220052860>tfw you’re the tenth guy after watching the guy pull apart your buddies >tfw he suddenly looks at you>tfw honorabu bushido code bullshit means you’ll be killed it you give up rather than fight him
>>220052580It's a crap movie, all of donnie yen's (starring) movies are bad.It wasn't ignored at all. It's the one martial arts movie almost everyone on the planet has seen. It's the martial arts movie that people who don't like martial arts movies like.
Drunken Master 2 is the peak of this genre, but it's not popular in the West because people don't like Jackie Chan's slapstick clowning. Ip Man is much more popular here because it's a "serious business" martial arts film for overgrown teenagers who love The Matrix.
>>220052580I went to see it when it premiered, expecting martial arts KINO. Got an unfinished episode of a mini-series with hardly any kung-fu and went home angry
>>220052713I don't see the point, surely we'll never need to defeat that many japs
>>220052580Never understood the connection Internet Ports.
>>220054151Nothing tops the original Drunken Master.
>muh ebil whites occupation>muh race traitors siding with invaders>muh moral deteoriation>muh me poor and struggle but me moral with muh KOONG FOOO>muh me KOONG FOO'd all the ebil wytes>muh me restore moral>mub me KOONG FOO herothere, its the movie and all its sequel for you
>>220052896as it ever was and so too ever shall it be
>>220054151I prefer the original Drunken Master, the sequel goes on a bit too long
Donnie is a perfectly ok fighter, but he always tries too hard to act seriously, and he's just awful.
>>220053326>In a real life or death struggle, the first person to get a trap/grab/hold has the advantage that often turns the tide.irl the only thing that matter in a fight are weight advantage, aggression and the element of surprise (sucker punching for example)it doesn't really matter how tough or skilled a guy is if some 300lb unit catches them off guard he's probably going down
So what keep a belt knife or something if someone is choking you? Never seen a movie where they just stab someone after being grabbed
>largely ignoredit was popular among normalfags thoughalso I watched Drunken Tai chi with the same actor and it was much better than any ip man film
>>220056907Weight as in muscles or is being fat also an advantage?
Only the first movie is really good but they are all very entertaining (if you keep in mind that you are watching Chinese propaganda).
You lose the ability to think martial arts movies are cool when you train combat sports
>>220057917You lose the ability to think combat sports are cool when you fire a gun once.
>>220052838yeah but japan lost that war in the end
>>220053326>but if I have an arm around your neckyea, "if"
>>220057938>surely my gun will sa--ACK
>>220057938Someone hasn't seen "Surviving edged weapons"
>>220052838The japanese general was portrayed as sympathetic and honorable and a lot of the film shows that a lot of chinamen were corroborating with the japanese like dogs. Don't be a cunt, take the stick out of your ass, it's a fine movie. China sucks though.
>>220052580I got forced to watch this by some CCP girl. Pure propaganda.
>>220052580to be honest this movie might as well be capeshit
>>220052580this is chinese capeshit. all of their action movies have to be about china's historical or present geopolitical rivals
>>220053326Don't know about muh life and death struggle (ease up on capeshit, anon), but in all fights I have ever been in, only time someone these to do this gayass takedowns is when they took too many right hand haymakers to the face and decided they would like some elbows to the back of their head instead.
>>220058335are those opponents in the room with us now?
>>220052580>90 pounds flappy hands chinaman defeating 10 menIronman is more realistic than this.
>>220058667>reeeeee nobody ever gets into street fights, save me Anderson Silva, take me down and fondle meeee
>>220052580Shit's gay
>>220058775>NOOO IF YOU DONT BELIEVE MY RANDOM CLAIMS YOU ARE GAYYYYWhat a pathetic third worlder.
>>220058814Nta, but I bet thirdies get in physical conflicts all the time, little zoomie.
>>220058218was she hot
What's the fastest way to learn how to do cool kung fu kicks?
