Was it an accurate depiction of being a teenager in the 00s?
>>
Not even remotely, no.
This was a fantasy of the life teenagers wished they were living.
>dude, we're all tragically cool, and fucked up on drugs, and have trendy problems like not being able to decide which person to go out with
>>
Also, no one had a token gay friend in the 00's.
>>
>tell the lads to do what they want
>three of them somehow out queer each other in a never ending spiral
what the hell happened with this
>>
>>220060225
For me it was Grace
>>
>>220060225
If you take this and mix it with the inbetweeners, you get a more accurate portrayal
>>
My teenage years mostly consisted of squatting in fields and woodlands and disused industrial sites, setting fire to crisp packets, and watching my one schizo friend shoot birds with a bb gun or something while being quietly uncomfortable around him.
Also playing Smash Bros, and installing emulators on my family computer.
>>
>>220060418
That was my junior high except we played halo on splitscreen. High school was when we just went to abandoned places and smoked weed
>>
>>220060285
Idk man I grew up in a major city and yea it’s a tv show but I would say it’s fairly accurate
>>
>>220060225
Mix Skins with Glee and the Inbetweeners and yes it is
>>
>>220060225
Not for most but a remote few would say yes just like American teen shows like The OC, One Tree Hill etc Most of us just fantasised about having anything going on in our boring lives. The Inbetweeners is a lot more accurate of a normal teenage lads life experiences in the UK at least
>>
>>220060225
depends where you lived and what your parents did.
council estate in Bolton? no it wasn't
well-off middle class area in Berkshire> yes, absolutely
>>
>>220060225
For 99% of teenagers school life was significantly more boring than shows like this like to depict.
>>
>>220060348
from gen 3? yeah same
>>
For me, it's Michelle.
>>
>>220060225
Yes. No.
Depends.
Anyone who says it's a fantasy and not real was either not there or just didn't know what their peers were getting up to.
Anyone who claims it was super accurate and the standard was probably a tryhard loser trying to fit in.
For alt kids who took drugs, the reality was basically just Skins crossed with The Inbetweeners.

Yeah the lightskinned goddess

I feel like I'm unironically the only person that liked gen 3 the most. The dynamic between Rich and Grace, as well as Alo were the peak of the series. Frankie in S6 was horrible though.

S2 is my second favourite just because of the whole Cook/Freddie/JJ dynamic. I was unironically the JJ in my friend group in high school, where my two friends fought over a girl. Just a little less autistic.

S1 is great and I can see why people like it the most, I just foundthere was a lot of unnecessary stuff, like Sketch and the whole Russia trip. The penultimate epsiode of S1 I still can't watch the scene with Tony and Effie after seeing it the first time.

I also met Dev Patel at LAX in an elevator once while Lion was out. I asked if he was Anwar and he looked annoyed and said "he was a character I played".

>tragically cool
haha yeah guy who couldn't live up to his parents' expectations
and guy who was abandoned by his mother and dealing with the grief of his brother's death
and girl who was neglected
and girl who was ignored
and guy who was a scumbag whose friends all hated and resented him
and the gay faggot guy
they were all tragically cool and awesome
>>
>you will NEVER AGAIN be a 16 year old lad laying in the middle of a field with a can of a beer you've never heard of, elated that you just made out with some fit bird after snorting lines of an unknown substance
zoomers will literally never get it
>>
>>220063250
Yes, you’re lying by omission
>>
>>220063269
Not a zoomer but literally never experienced teenage degeneracy.
>>
>>220063220
yeah i agree with gen 3, i thought it was decent. I really thought Gen 2 was the weakest but i think its the gen a lot of people grew up with.
>>
>>220063250
Yes, those are cool life problems.
Not realistic life problems, like say being a bit fat, being made fun of because you play Sonic games and no one but you understands how good they are, having a five years younger brother, who wont stop watching Harry Potter on rotation and it's starting to drive you mad.
>You're a wizard, Arry
>You're a wizard, Arry
>You're a wizard, Arry
That's what being a teenager is like.

>Ooooohhh! I was le gay, and I had to go on a heart wrenching voyage of discovery! My le father used to hit me! I had an awesome substance addiction, and went to secret night clubs that you don't know about!
Fuck right off.

I might be a bit older, but a lot of my peers grew up with Gen 1 as their big one. My friends and I were all skaters though, so we'd skate around town at night then go back to my mate's garage and chuck Gen 2 on while playing Tony Hawk and they smoked.

I was the only one that stayed for Gen 3.
>>
>You will never live a teenage romance like this ever...
>>
Zoomies will never understand
>>
>>220064774
Thank fucking god, school romance is awkward and annoying
>oh but the magic
gay
>>
>>220064774
never saw a high school romance that didnt crash and burn in a spectacular shitstorm of months and months of drama.
So no, you didnt miss out on much other than not getting your romantic fantasies upended by reality.
>>
>>220064774
We unironically had a fairly hot (definitely not the hottest in the year) redhead girl who was fuckbuddies with 2 of the star rugby lads at the same time.
They both claimed to be fine with it but you could cut the tension with a knife. Was pretty hilarious.
>>
>>220064774
I did... then she cheated on me when she turned 20, and hid it from me until we turned 30. It's embarrassing to admit but I almost killed myself over it, but in hindsight I can't tell why, why the fuck would I want to lose my life over some disloyal gash?
