How would you rate it?
I) History kino
II) Ok
III) meh
>>
Ok but I remember there were some yass queen slay moments
>>
I got a hard on listening to romans speak latin, specially by that loyal Centurion who rightfully suspected Ari from the start.
I liked the costumes.
The roman eagle heist was kinda cool.
The germans were depicted as too "noble savage" kind of trope. Too many fat guys too.
The crux of the series, the climax if you will, that should be the ambush itself lasts for mere minutes a total ripoff, it should last for two episodes.
It was so bad that I still to this day haven't seen part 2. Also because of gay bearded warlord... who the fuck thought this was a good idea?

Girl power slop with leather armour.

I agree, season one was OK. but the Teutoburg depiction was so wrong and dogshit it REALLY brings everything else down.
Did not watch S2, the trailer looked even more woke and ahistorical, bummer I would love an Armenius depiction that really nails the history behind it.
>>
>>220060772
it's stupid
>>
I gave it a chance and dropped it after 1 or 2 episodes.

>But we don’t want roads, baths, or books! We want to burn people alive in the woods!
Imagine being proud of ancestors who betrayed and murdered the people trying to help them.
>>

It's not as if the Roman society was humanist, bro.
>>
>>220061767
Germanic tribespeople probably had a better quality of life than the average Roman, especially compared to the plebs who lived in insulae in the cities.
>>
>>220061785
I know, it was just better than what the Germans had going on. And the German nobility would’ve eventually been absorbed into the senate.
>>
>>220061861
They lived in their own filth. Basically indians.
>>

Proof?
>>
>>220061926
the proof is that there are not archeological remains of anything complex on that time at the east of the Rhine river
old germans lived on mud huts surrounded by woods
the celts had a lot of jewelry and fotresses, the germans had nothing.

They don't even hide their fetish now.

How is this "living in their own filth" exactly?
>>
>>220062183
thats the place for huge reunions where the tribal "king" lives with his family.
the whole germany in that time probably had like 10 of them.
>>

>the people trying to help them
The Romans were trying to genocide the Germanic folk same as they did to the Carthaginians and the Gauls and many other people no longer here today.

>Augustus suffered but two severe and ignominious defeats, those of Lollius [15 B.C.] and Varus [9 A.D.], both of which were in Germania. Of these the former was more humiliating than serious, but the latter was almost fatal, since three legions were cut to pieces with their general, his lieutenants, and all the auxiliaries. When the news of this came, he ordered that watch be kept by night throughout the city, to prevent any outbreak, and he prolonged the terms of the governors of the provinces, that the allies might be held to their allegiance by experienced men with whom they were acquainted. He also vowed great games to Jupiter Optimus Maximus, in case the condition of the commonwealth should improve, a thing which had been done in the Cimbric and Marsic wars. In fact, they say he was so greatly affected that for several months in succession he cut neither his beard nor his hair, and sometimes he would dash his head against a door, crying: "Quintilius Varus, give me back my legions!" And he observed the day of the disaster each year as one of sorrow and mourning.
- Suetonius, Roman Historian, from The Lives of the Twelve Caesars

The gauls still form a huge chunk of modern france's genetic heritage you cretin, the gauls never went anywhere.
>>
>>220061861
If they did they wouldn't have tried crossing into Italy for centuries and the roman legions needed to fight and stop them time and time again

You don't see Americans trying to rush to cross the border into Mexico
>>
>>220062609
do you think romans put the gauls and carthaginians in gas chambers or what?
they were not ethnically destroyed, only culturally
>>
>>220063021
You don't need gas chambers to commit a genocide. The Rwandans did just fine with their machetes.
>>
>>220063246
romans were much more interested in gathering slaves, than just killing for the sake of killing unless they had to make an example.
