I was a dumb little kid and thought they really put the kids inside the video games, because it turns out I'm an autist and trust what authority figures tell me. It wasn't until I was well into adulthood I realized it was some early "Green Screen" technology and they were lying about the whole thing. Nickelodeon in the 90s was just a web of lies and deception.

I only knew it existed because relatives out of town I would go visit had it on their cable. Disney was still a pay channel like HBO or Showtime. You watched Nickelodeon or you went out and stood around in the alley with the weird mentally ill kid who lived nextdoor with his grandparents who always creeped you out and who would go on to hang himself at 16 years old. Kids these days are so lucky. They have so many choices for entertainment. Streaming is so exciting. And my daughter doesn't have a weirdo psycho next door. Her life is so much better than mine was as a kid, Thank God.
