Why did he insist on taking the money when he could just live a humble life along with his beautiful wife?
>>220075082wait-- he lived?
>>220075082taking the money was the smart thing to do, if he never goes back with the water jug then Chigurh has to drive around aimlessly until he finds the tracking signal. Llewellyn has likely taken out enough cash to purchase a house and car by that point, so he would likely have found the tracker.
>>220075082He should have fucked off with the cash and not have worried about the drug dealing spic being thirsty. Also should have taken a brick of the drugs to party with as well.
>>220075082The entire film is being told from the point of view of the sheriff. He's telling this story to various people. Everything you see is colored by his biases and naivete. Llewelyn did not go back to the site of the drug deal to give someone water. He went back looking for more loot. We only see Llewelyn as a lovable rogue with a good heart because that's the only way the sheriff could rationalize him and his actions in his mind. He insisted on taking the money, abandoning his wife, and fucking that slut at the motel because he's a piece of shit.
>>220075082the book was written by a hack and the film was directed by hacks. That's how it works. the film is supposed to piss you off due to the sheer stupidity of the characters.
>>220075082The reason why he lost his aura and got killed like an NPC offscreen is because he nearly bled to death and had Mexican blood transfused into his body in a Mexican hospital which made him biologically non-white (Mexican) a condition that could last for at least 3-4 months, or however long it takes your own body to regenerate blood and in that time he could no longer be a protagonist in story rooted in the Western canon.
>>220075693This. LOL"Yeah, I'm just going to take this jug of tap water out to the desert in the middle of the night to a nasty drug dealer shootout crime scene. I already scored two firearms and a case full of cash so it's cool. I might get shot in the back by cartel and leave my truck for a crazy hitman to find but oh well."
>>220075082Anymore movies like this?>Protag is a retired army man >Hunting him is a very competent hitman who has never been challenged before>This is the first time the hitman has been challenged and he's loving the huntI fucking love this dynamic
>>220075818Do you spam this theory of yours in every thread? I don't think that's how the story is being told. I think it's just a story that sort of uses the sheriff as a central point.
Sugar?
>>220075082Why didnt he just take like a little bit out of the case and not the whole case? Greedy
>>220081261The hunted (2007)The figurineSeraphim falls
>>220081261FasterDon't be turned off by the fact that the Rock is in it. It's the best performance he's ever given and he's completely serious in it. Decent film.
