>The last public statement we’ve gotten from the grape lady was through a phone interview with a online video website. The interviewer was playing with her and almost making fun of her for what happened. Melissa responded that the incident was very embarrassing for her and more importantly she was also hurt quite badly. She said she broke several ribs and was forced to be in and out of the hospital for several weeks to check on her progress. She also said that her initial reaction to the fall was she was in so much pain that she thought that she might actually die. She says that she has also watched the video online and looked at some of the comments that people left and finds it sickening that people could be so insensitive to what happened to her.

>get nostalgia for old YouTubers
>go back and watch their old videos
>realise they were all complete and utter dogshit
>the only reason I liked them was due to a lack of competition
>retsuprae was two grown men getting upset at children for not playing video games “correctly” while making reddit tier quips
>adoseofbuckley was a whinny leaf who claimed to be a comedian, while barely ever telling jokes
>mister metokur was full of cope laughing and taking other people’s clips. Also learn later that he’s now a Twitter addict who celebrated children being bombed and cried onstream when charlie kirk died
>nostalgia critic was painfully unfunny and had outdated comedy even for his time
>spoony droned on and on without really making many points
The list goes on. I’ve since been far less harsh on zoomers who enjoy watching slop on YouTube. They’ll probably look back in shame like I did, although I think even their dogshit content creators are more talanted than the bozos I used to watch

There are exceptions of course. I like some of the Jackass and Jackass accessories bits because those guys are volunteering and are fully aware of what might happen. I can laugh at their pain because (usually) they're laughing at it too.

My favourite old videos were ones of Dr Phil getting rekt by people who call out his bullshit. The one with the bum fights guy dressing up as him is very well known, but I also love the one of the exhibitionist who calls him out for exploiting him. He articulates his points incredibly well, even among all the brain damaged amerisharts clapping at whatever Phil says
I hate Dr Phil so much. Sanctimonious, quack, huckster, hillbilly piece of shit

I can laugh at absurdist stuff even in dire moments. It's really the juxtaposition that's funny. At the same time though if the spinning resulted in her death or disability I would have a much harder time finding it funny. I've chuckled at actual death videos assuming the commentary or framing was funny enough so I don't think anything should necessarily be "off limits". I'm not a moralfag.

But in the case of the OP video >>220082085 there's really nothing to laugh at after the initial fall in my eyes. The woman is in excruciating pain after a mundane incident and there's no context to make it worth being laughed at. It's just what was likely the worst day of this woman's life that got seen by millions of people.

>>
>>220084548
I've read that so many times, apparently it's supported by studies too, but maybe it depends on the type of pain or something because every time I've seen a woman get mildly hurt through something like a cut or an impact their reaction has been way more exaggerated than that of a man. Maybe they have trouble handling the surprise of sudden pain, rather than the pain itself

A lot of people reactions to pain are a learned behavior. If you see, say, a 2 year old trip and fall, if nobody makes a big deal out of it they might briefly get upset and then move on.

It isn't until they go to school and see some whiny bitch baby kid scream their head off after they trip because people fed into it that they start doing it too. Obviously extreme levels of pain are going to get more of a reaction by default, but minor stuff that makes you go "ow" is generally more of a learned thing.

Women have higher pain sensitivity and tolerance basically exactly BECAUSE of pregnancy (they even become more sensitive to pain during gestation due to hormonal shifts) and estrogen both psychologically and physically makes you less capable of tolerating pain and lowers your pain threshold. It's not supported by studies at all. In fact studies in the subject show the exact opposite, that men have a higher pain tolerance, and by a fair margin too.
It's actually a widespread problem that women feel more pain than men, because they get affected by pain relief medication differently and also get these stupid ass fibromyass pain disorders and shit.
